Chapter 757 Why Is It You
Time rewound to before Alexander left the hospital.
He glanced at the clock on the wall; it was already nine in the morning.
He had planned to hold out until nine, but the time had already come.
9:01, 9:02, 9:03...
Seconds ticked by.
Alexander stared at the clock and suddenly laughed.
He thought silently, 'Ava, you won't even let me see you one last time. You deceived me again.'
'You said you would come, but you went back on your word.'
'Do you hate me that much?'
'Then I might as well die; if I die, you won't hate me anymore.'
'If I die, I'd no longer endure your deceit.'
'If I die, I'd no longer feel the despair you bring me.'
Alexander climbed out of bed and stumbled to the window.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Alexander paused.
He turned his head, his eyes filled with hope.
Was it Ava?
The door was knocked again.
The person outside, worried by the lack of response, carefully opened the door and peeked in.
She saw Alexander standing by the window and was startled. She quickly walked in, asking worriedly, "What are you doing?"
Alexander was stunned to see the woman in front of him.
"Why is it you?" His voice was full of disappointment.
Why wasn't it Ava?
Madison Allen took a step forward, nervously saying, "I came to check on you. It's already past visiting hours, so I snuck in because I was worried about you. I knocked, but you didn't answer, so I came in."
'Luckily, I came in; otherwise, Alexander would have gone to the window,' she sighed silently in relief.
"Don't do this. No matter what happens, you can get through it. I beg you, don't do this." She pleaded.
Alexander forced a smile and sat back down on the bed.
He retorted, "What are you talking about? I don't understand. I just couldn't sleep and wanted to get some fresh air by the window."
"Really?" Madison was a bit skeptical.
She had a very uneasy feeling about what she had just seen.
Alexander was clearly about to climb onto the window ledge.
After getting back into bed, Alexander pulled up the covers.
He didn't want to jump in front of someone else.
"Believe it or not, but I still owe you a thank you," he said reluctantly.
That day, Madison had saved him.
He was injured and bleeding profusely.
He thought he was going to die. In a daze, he opened his eyes and saw a woman beside him, desperately trying to stop his bleeding.
Then, she used all her strength to lift him and put him in her car.
Later, he arrived at the hospital, and when he woke up, the woman who had saved him was gone.
Madison stepped forward and said, "I didn't expect to see you there."
Alexander turned his head and asked, "Why were you there at that time?"
It was a desolate place; it was strange for someone to pass by.
Madison replied, "I'm a photographer. I went there to take pictures because of the beautiful natural scenery. I saw some old houses and wanted to go in and shoot, but then I found you lying on the ground covered in blood. I was terrified and immediately took you to the hospital. But when I got to the hospital, I received an emergency call and had to leave. Later, I found out you were saved, so I came to check on you."
She didn't expect him to survive.
Alexander picked up a sticky note and pen from the bed and handed them to her. "Leave your number."
Madison stared at his handsome face, her heart racing.
When she saw Alexander covered in blood in that old house, she was struck by his appearance.
Her camera had captured countless men, but none had ever looked as good as him.
She shyly took the sticky note and wrote down her number.
She said, "This is my number. You can call me anytime."
"I'll have my assistant call you. He'll arrange your payment."
Alexander's voice was very cold.
