Chapter 521 Scolding Me after I Finish Talking

"Can you stop speculating about him? You don't understand his situation at all. Don't judge him based on your subjectivity. I have my reasons for staying in the hospital to take care of him."

William had amnesia and needed her. He was like a lost child who couldn't find his way home and was unfamiliar with everything around him. If she weren't by his side, he would definitely be terrified. Brain surgery was no joke, and even a slight error could lead to paralysis or death. The fact that he survived was already a miracle.

Alexander was really talking nonsense and lacked empathy.

Seeing how protective Ava was of William, Alexander knew their relationship was indeed unbreakable.

He felt very sad.

"As long as you think it makes sense," Alexander said calmly. He didn't mean anything else, but to Ava, it sounded harsh.

She wanted to retort but didn't know what to say. She could only choose to remain silent and sulk.

Everything had been fine, but the atmosphere in the car suddenly became oppressive.

They didn't speak for ten minutes until Alexander suddenly pulled the car over to the side of the road.

Ava looked out the window and saw rows of dense trees.

"Why did you stop here?"

"I don't like William. No, I hate him. If he didn't exist, maybe you would come back to me. He is the obstacle between us."

Hearing Alexander's gloomy voice, Ava felt uneasy and immediately said, "Even without him, I wouldn't come back to you. From the moment we divorced, I decided never to look back."

"But you have to admit, William is an important factor. Without him, you would at least still be single now, and we wouldn't have had so many arguments because of him."

"So, you think it's all William's fault or all my fault? Was it because I got close to William that we argued and got divorced? Do I need to apologize to you?"

Here he went again, about to forcefully impose his logic. He would never think in other’s shoes.

His point was that a husband could cheat, but even so, the wife must remain faithful to him. If she got close to another man, it was wrong and should be criticized.

And were their arguments really just about William? What about Isabella? Why didn't he mention her at all?

"No." Alexander stared blankly at Ava. "I need to apologize to you."

"What did you say?" Ava looked at him in shock.

His sudden change in attitude was beyond her expectations. She thought they were about to argue again.

"Ava, when William was injured and in a coma, I really hoped he would give his heart to Isabella, because that would save Isabella, and most importantly, I had selfish motives. I thought it would be great if William died so no one would compete with me for you."

"You..." Ava was about to scold him. However, Alexander interrupted her, "Listen to me first. You can scold me after I finish talking."

Ava swallowed her words and nodded.

This gave her more time to think about how to scold him. Every time she impulsively argued with him, she would later think she should have used different words to scold him better.

Alexander let go of the steering wheel, leaned his head back, and sighed deeply. "I am really jealous of William, even hate him. I admit I am selfish because I think he took away the woman I love. Even though I know it's my fault for not cherishing you, I still can't help but feel angry."
