Chapter 990 Mutual Jealousy
Madison sighed, "I get it, Alexander. I won't do it again. My bad. I didn't realize I shouldn't bring that stuff up. I'm still new to this, and I was worried you'd be upset with me."
Alexander gently brushed her hair. "Let's not talk about it again, and stay away from Ava."
Madison asked, "What about you? Are you still gonna see her?"
Alexander stayed quiet for a moment.
His silence gave Madison her answer.
Madison thought, 'Maybe even Alexander doesn't know if he'll see Ava. It could be by accident, or maybe on purpose, or Ava might just show up. Who knows? Either way, it's Ava's fault, not Alexander's.'
"Alexander." William's voice came from outside the ward.
Alexander turned and frowned when he saw him.
Madison looked a bit scared. "Alexander, why is he here?"
Alexander gently squeezed her hand. "Madison, don't worry. Stay here and don't come out."
Madison nodded.
Alexander stepped out of the room. "William, what do you want?"
William shot back, "I should be asking you that. Bringing your girl here to mess with Ava."
"You're overthinking it," Alexander replied coolly. "I just brought Madison for a check-up."
William retorted, "Out of all the hospitals, you picked this one? You expect me to believe that wasn't on purpose?"
Alexander argued, "I know this place, got connections here. It's convenient. But you showing up here, looking for trouble? Go tell Ava I hit you."
William laughed. "Relax, Alexander. I'm not here to fight. Just wanted to let you know Vincent's awake."
Alexander frowned. "He's awake?"
Alexander didn't really care about Vincent waking up. He had nothing to do with him. He even thought Vincent had hurt Ava and almost killed him.
Alexander shrugged. "Is that so? Good for him. Ava must be thrilled."
William replied, "Of course she is. I came to share her joy with you."
Alexander crossed his arms. "William, are you trying to piss me off? She's your wife now, and Vincent's your problem. Making him my rival is pointless. I've got Madison."
William clenched his fist and sneered. "Rival? Alexander, you're not even close, let alone Vincent's. You're just a loser. When I'm with Ava, you don't even know where to hide and cry."
"William!" Alexander's fist tightened, anger boiling inside him.
Just then, Madison came out. "Alexander."
She walked over, took his arm, and gently held his fist. "Alexander, don't be mad. Feel our baby." She lifted his fist, slowly opened it, and placed it on her belly. "When the baby is born, boy or girl, it's yours. You're gonna be a dad, so don't let others get to you."
Alexander silently looked at Madison.
