Chapter 415 A Sense of Proportion

"Are you stupid? I gave you the password. You could have gone in and waited for me. Why did you stay downstairs?"

William smiled gently. "You weren't home, and I didn't feel right staying at your place. It's your home."

He had a sense of propriety.

Ava sighed, "You fool. Remember, my home is your home. You can go in. Don't do this next time. What if it's winter and snowing outside? Would you just stand there waiting?"

William nodded. "Okay."

He truly maintained an air of naivety, yet paradoxically, his exceptionally handsome appearance transforming him into a charmingly handsome fool, evoking a unique allure of reverse fascination.

Ava sighed again, wondering why some men could be such jerks while others were so kind. "What happened to your lip?"

Ava raised her hand and gently touched his dry, bloodied lip.

A simple gesture made William's eyes light up. He shook his head. "It's nothing. Probably I just haven't had enough water."

"Fool, didn't you notice your mouth was so dry that it bled?"

"It's nothing." Despite Ava's scolding, William felt a warm sense of care.

Ava gently placed her hand on his back as if she was embracing him. "Let's go upstairs."

She felt William's mood was heavy despite his smile and his dim eyes.

Their posture looked intimate from behind. Ava's hand would occasionally pat his back, whispering something in his ear.

Not far away, Mia saw this scene. She was about to call Ava. However, when she saw them turn and walk upstairs intimately, Mia did nothing. She silently watched them until they disappeared from her sight.

Mia had left in her car earlier but suddenly felt she should have said more to Ava about what happened today.

But she didn't expect to see a man waiting for her downstairs.

Ava was good to him and very gentle. They looked like a couple.

It was as if Alexander didn't exist in the world.

After all, Alexander was her son. Mia couldn't be completely selfless, but she was very disappointed in him.

She had no right to stop Ava from being intimate with other men.

Mia sighed and turned away.

Ava led William upstairs.

William seemed a bit lost. She helped him to the sofa and poured him a glass of water.
She touched his hand and found it a bit cold, so she quickly covered him with a blanket.

"William, you can tell me if something is bothering you. I'll do my best to help. Don't keep it to yourself." William forced a smile. "I'm fine."

"No, you're not." Ava looked worried. "I know what your father did to you. Is it because you refused to marry the woman he arranged for you, so he kicked you out of the Bennett Family?"

"Ava, don't worry. I'll take care of myself. It's actually not bad. In the future, he won't be able to interfere with me anymore."

"No." Ava shook her head. "he will still interfere with you. He has a strong desire for control. Even if he kicks you out of the Bennett Family, he won't let you off easily."
