Chapter 868 He Was Super Fragile

After about an hour of treatment, the door swung open, and William walked out.

After every MRAD session, the doc always said not to rush back. Instead, he suggested hitting up an open space, taking a stroll, and soaking in the scenery. Supposedly, it did wonders for the brain.

"William, how'd it go this time?" Ava asked.

William looked at her, and out of nowhere, his heart just ached. He grabbed her hand. "You've been through so much."

Ava looked confused, "What are you talking about? I'm fine."

William shot back, "No, you're not. It's all because of Alexander."

Ava's face went stiff, "You..."

"I remembered Alexander," William said. "He hurt you."

He pulled her into a hug, his heart breaking. "How could he do that to you? Sleeping around with other women in that mansion. Remember when we pretended to be waitstaff and caught them in bed? How could he? You're amazing, why would he hurt you like that?"

Ava said, "William."

It was good that William was getting some memories back, but it seemed like he was only remembering the crappy ones.

She gently patted his back, "That's all in the past. I divorced him; it doesn't matter anymore."

"But to me, it feels like it happened just yesterday." William let her go, his eyes red, "I really feel for you."

"Don't be sad," Ava comforted. "It's all in the past. I'm over it."

She hoped William could remember some happy times too.

William held Ava's hand tight, "Ava, can I keep holding your hand like this?"

He needed her strength; otherwise, he felt like he'd fall apart.

Every time he finished this treatment and got some memories back, he'd get super fragile.

For Ava, those were old memories; but for William, it was like they just happened, and it was a huge shock.

The doc had told Ava that whenever William remembered bad stuff, she should comfort him and be there for him.

Seeing his red eyes, Ava couldn't say no, so she nodded, "Of course you can."

He had just finished the treatment and suddenly remembered all this bad stuff, which must have really hurt. She had to help him.

William said, "You're so kind."

Ava's kindness and naivety touched him deeply, making him want to cherish her all the more.

Then, William pushed the stroller with one hand and held Ava's hand with the other as they left the hospital.

Sunny, in the stroller, was super chill and quiet.

The three of them, like a little family, walked down the street, all happy and in sync.

People passing by saw the cute baby in the stroller and couldn't help but take a few extra glances, their hearts melting.

Ava strolled through downtown, looking at the bustling scene, suddenly feeling way more relaxed.

The light bounced off the skyscrapers, casting golden glimmers on the busy streets, bringing a touch of calm to the hustle and bustle.

The lively vibe brought by the breeze filled the air, gently brushing Ava's cheeks, bringing a sense of coolness and freshness.

In the distance, the roar of cars and the chatter of the crowd formed the unique symphony of the city.

The skyline, lined with tall buildings, showed off a dynamic and modern charm under the morning sun.

The three of them saw a bunch of sights along the way, and around noon, they walked into a restaurant for lunch.

They had reserved seats in this place.

In Stellaria, if people wanted to eat at a nice spot, you usually needed to book ahead; otherwise, they might be waiting forever.

After ordering, Ava took Sunny out of the stroller and held her in her arms, smiling at her adorable face.

William gazed at her with so much love.

He hoped Ava would stay in Stellaria forever, that they'd live here and not go back to their home country.

After all, there were too many people back home who caused him grief, especially Alexander.

Ava held Sunny, laughing and playing with her, in a really good mood.

She had no idea what kind of heart-wrenching ordeal was coming next.
