Chapter 959 What a Jerk
She slightly parted her red lips, exhaling a trembling breath.
Alexander's breath, buried in her neck, grew increasingly hot and moist.
Suddenly, a faint voice from Ava reached his ears. "Alexander, is Vincent's surgery over?"
Alexander's body froze. In the midst of his passionate fervor, he heard Ava mention Vincent's name.
Alexander felt a pang of guilt and heartache.
He stared into Ava's eyes, noticing that they were still tightly shut. It seemed like she was dreaming or half-awake, completely unaware of what he was doing to her.
Yet, even in her half-awake state, she was still thinking about Vincent.
Even in her sleep, she was worried about Vincent.
Alexander suddenly felt like a jerk.
How could he take advantage of her at this moment and do such a thing?
She was already in enough pain, and he was adding to it.
But it was hard to control.
Faced with the sight of the woman he loved, how many men could control themselves?
Alexander closed his eyes in agony, a tear helplessly sliding down his cheek and dripping onto her.
Finally, he sighed, pulled up the sheet to cover them both, and then held her in his arms, kissing her cheek and whispering in her ear, "Not yet. You keep sleeping. I'll let you know when the surgery is over."
Ava was truly exhausted and had been through too many shocks. She was exahusted, without the strength to open her eyes, not even realizing how intimate she was with Alexander at that moment.
Alexander held her like that, unwilling to let go, even more unwilling to look away.
That night, Alexander didn't know how many times he kissed her.
As dawn approached, he sighed in her ear. "Ava, if only time could turn back. If I didn't have Isabella and you didn't have William, just the two of us would be enough."
The morning sunlight streamed through the ward window, softly and warmly falling on Ava.
The light danced in the air, casting delicate spots like crystalline petals gently covering her skin.
Her long hair was smooth and silky, gently falling on the white pillowcase, her eyebrows slightly arched like a crescent moon, outlining her beautiful face.
Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, trembling like butterfly wings, adding a touch of mysterious allure to her eyes.
Alexander sat by the bed, silently staring at his fingers, lovingly playing with her soft hair.
Just watching her like this made him feel so happy.
The entire ward was filled with a serene and harmonious atmosphere, as if time had stopped for her, leaving only this moment of tranquility.
The warmth of the sunlight on her body seemed to give a gentle embrace, guarding her dreams, driving away all unpleasantness and pain.
Ava furrowed her delicate brows and slowly opened her eyes. The sunlight was a bit harsh, making her eyes feel sore.
Alexander seemed to notice and immediately reached out to block the sunlight for her.
Seeing the enlarged palm in front of her, Ava turned her head and found Alexander lying beside her.
She was startled and quickly sat up in bed.
Last night, she felt something strange with her body, but she was too tired to open her eyes.
