Chapter 1045 Dinner Date

In the blink of an eye, three months had passed.

Ava's course had ended.

She had arranged to have dinner with Alexander tonight.

For the past three months, Alexander had been undergoing chemotherapy, once every three weeks.

Ava promised Alexander that she would accompany him for a meal every time he finished his chemotherapy.

But gradually, Alexander started asking her out more frequently.

Sometimes he would ask her out every two weeks, sometimes once a week, and sometimes they would have a meal together every three days.

Ava didn't refuse him because she felt that Alexander was sick now, and she couldn't just ignore him.

Now that Madison was in the recovery phase, someone had to keep an eye on Alexander. No matter what, she had to do it for Scarlett's sake.

The two of them had dinner at a restaurant.

The restaurant's environment was exceptionally elegant.

Under the night sky, the stars were shining brightly.

Luxurious chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, like sparkling stars, emitting a soft and enchanting glow.

The exquisite dining tables were neatly arranged, each equipped with delicate napkins and gleaming silverware, exuding elegance and taste.

Paintings adorned the walls, with intricate brushstrokes depicting vibrant flowers, landscapes, and abstract lines.

Carefully arranged flowers and greenery adorned every corner, emitting a faint fragrance.

The night view outside the floor-to-ceiling windows reflected into the restaurant, with twinkling lights in the dim night sky, like pearls in the sky.

Warm candlelight flickered on the dining table, casting a soft halo, adding a touch of romance to the entire space.

Alexander and Ava hadn't dined in such an atmospheric restaurant for a long time, like a date.

Ava looked around; this time, it seemed specially arranged.

"How is your chemotherapy going?" Ava was most concerned about this.

Alexander responded, "The chemotherapy results are good. The doctor said I can have surgery soon to completely remove the cancer cells."

Hearing this, Ava breathed a sigh of relief.

She noticed Alexander was dressed sharply in a suit, looking handsome and elegant, with thick hair, and she was a bit puzzled. "I heard chemotherapy causes hair loss, but it seems like you haven't lost much hair."

Alexander replied, "Some medications cause hair loss, but the drugs the hospital is using for me don't cause severe hair loss. I'm relatively lucky."

"Alexander, if you recover this time, you must stop drinking."

Alexander nodded and agreed.

At this moment, the waiter brought juice to their table.

Alexander picked up the juice, "I promise I won't drink anymore. Can you promise me something?"

Ava asked, "What is it?"

Alexander added, "I'm going to have surgery in a few days. After my surgery, can you stay with me until I recover?"

Ava suddenly fell silent.

After a while, she said, "My course has ended."

Hearing this, Alexander seemed to understand why she said that.

Alexander asked, "You mean you're going back home?"

Ava nodded, "Yes, after all, Sunny is still back home. I haven't seen him for three months, and I miss him a lot. Sunny must have grown a lot. Seeing him only through the phone every day makes me feel so sad."

Alexander put down his juice glass, looking a bit disappointed. "So, I'll have to go through the surgery alone."

"Madison will be with you," Ava said. "It's been three months; she should be almost recovered by now."

She had accompanied Alexander through the chemotherapy phase, but she couldn't stay with him forever. She wanted to go back and see Sunny; she really missed Sunny.

Seeing Alexander's silence, Ava said, "How about I stay with you through the surgery, and after it's done, I'll go back home."

She could stay a few more days, but if she had to stay until Alexander fully recovered, that would take too long. By the time she went back, Sunny wouldn't recognize her anymore.

Alexander said bitterly, "Let's talk about it later. Let's order first."
