Chapter 838 They are Tight
Eason's heart did a little flip. "Fine, keep it to yourself if you don't wanna spill, but why you gotta be so harsh? Ava bailed 'cause of you. If it wasn't for you, she wouldn't have skipped town."
Alexander's brow furrowed, looking all confused. "You know she went abroad?"
Eason nodded. "Duh, I know. I even know where she's at. We chat all the time."
Alexander's hand balled into a fist. Feeling all kinds of messed up, he turned to leave, but his feet felt like they were glued to the floor.
Seeing this, Eason smirked. "What's the holdup? Can't bear to leave me, or you wanna say sorry?"
Alexander spun around. "You that tight with her?"
"Yeah, Ava and I are like siblings. Even though we're miles apart, we still keep in touch."
"What, you jealous?" Eason taunted. "It's your own fault. Ava doesn't talk to you 'cause you're a jerk. You even hurt William. You did that thing, but the cops couldn't pin it on you. Otherwise, you'd be locked up."
Alexander suddenly lunged and grabbed Eason by the collar. "I didn't do it. Say it again, and you'll regret it!"
He couldn't stand being blamed for something he didn't do.
"Mr. Mitchell." Madison rushed over. "Chill out. He's hurt. If you hit him, it's gonna be bad. Don't do this."
Alexander snorted and let Eason go, shoving him away.
Eason looked a bit shaken. "Alright, I get it. I won't bring it up again. But man, you were scary. No wonder Ava was freaked out by you. She's lucky she's with William now. They're super happy, and it makes me happy to see her finally loved."
Hearing William's name, anger flared up in Alexander.
Eason really knew how to push his buttons.
Seeing Alexander's furious face, Madison got a bit scared too.
She quickly said, "Mr. Mitchell, weren't you gonna take me home? Let's go."
Alexander shook off Madison's hand. "You said they're happy together. Did Ava tell you that?"
Even though he and Ava were divorced, he couldn't help but dig for more info.
He just wanted to know if she and William were really that happy.
"She didn't say it; I saw it myself." Eason grinned. "Ava and William are tight. I really like them together, and they're even planning to have a baby."
Alexander's fists clenched, knuckles cracking, eyes blazing with rage.
He thought, 'They're planning a baby?'
He and Ava never had a kid, and now she's gonna have one with William?
Thinking about it made Alexander feel like he was splitting apart, his soul tearing with pain.
Ava, how could you be so heartless? Why'd you cut me off so easily?
If William hadn't shown up, maybe he could've won Ava back by now!
But who could he blame?
It was all his fault.
"Let's go." Alexander grabbed Madison's arm and dragged her away.
In the hallway, Madison felt Alexander's seething anger, and her arm hurt from his grip.
Madison said, "Don't be mad. That Eason guy is immature. He speaks without any sense of propriety. Don't let it get to you."
Alexander suddenly stopped and let go of her hand.
Madison stopped too.
She rubbed her arm and stepped in front of him. "You're not like him. I think he's just trying to mess with you. If you get mad, you're playing into his hands. Besides, he might be lying."
Alexander's chest was a storm of emotions.
He glanced at Madison, then suddenly turned and marched back towards Eason's room.
Madison panicked, thinking,
'Why's he going back? Are they gonna throw down?'
