Chapter 777 Beautiful Face
She always seemed so sad, and he noticed it right away.
He'd been to so many events and met so many people that he forgot most of them. But seeing her today brought back a memory.
"You're Alexander's mom, right? Here to see Ava?"
Mia looked a bit confused. "How do you know? You..."
"I used to chat with Ava. She mentioned you. I'm William's uncle."
Mia was shocked.
She just found out today that William's uncle was Brandon.
So, Dalton's wife, Hailey, was related to him.
It was no surprise Dalton was so eager to marry Hailey. He saw the value of her family connections.
"So, are you here to see Ava today?"
Mia thought, 'If he saw William's injured face at the hospital, would he come after me?'
Given Brandon's status, if he wanted revenge, she might lose her job as a bank manager.
But what scared her most was William hating her.
She couldn't tell him she was his mom. If she did, he'd hate her even more.
His real mom abandoned him for years. When they met, she looked down on him, scolded him, and hit him. How could he not hate her?
A tear slipped down her cheek.
Brandon noticed and gently said, "Yeah, it's been a while. I've been busy, but I finally found some time today."
"You really care about Ava." Mia was surprised someone like him would come just to see William's wife.
It showed how much he cared for William.
Dalton smiled. "Ava's great. Since she married William, she's family. I'll always treat her well."
"Thank you." Mia didn't know why she said that.
She had no connection to Ava anymore.
But Brandon didn't mock her.
Seeing her tear, he reached out and gently wiped it away.
Mia was startled and pulled back.
His touch lingered on her face.
She looked at him, shocked.
Brandon casually withdrew his hand. "Such a beautiful face shouldn't have tears." His voice was calm.
It wasn't creepy, just a sincere compliment.
Mia smiled awkwardly. "I'm not young anymore. It doesn't matter."
"Every age has its own beauty. Only fools mock aging."
Brandon was in his forties too, but he was naturally handsome, tall, and charming. Even in his forties, he had a mature steadiness.
No beer belly, no baldness, a good physique, thick hair, and well-defined features. It was hard not to like a guy like him.
Hearing his sincere compliment, Mia felt a bit emotional.
Most men, no matter their age, preferred twenty-year-olds. Genuine compliments for middle-aged women were a rarity.
"Thank you." She was genuinely grateful.
Just then, the driver approached and knocked on the car window.
After the window rolled down, the driver said to Mia, "Your car is ready. You should go check it out."
"Thank you."
Mia was about to get out of the car when Brandon suddenly called out, "Wait a moment."
