Chapter 466 My Responsibility
"Brandon, are you interested in what happened to Ava?"
From the beginning, she felt that there was something off in the way he looked at Ava.
This off feeling she sensed was not malicious.
It was more like the feeling of seeing an old acquaintance after many years.
Brandon's expression suddenly turned somewhat aloof, feigning displeasure. "Why? Am I not allowed to inquire? Am I to refrain from inquiring about your husband's affairs in the future as well? It appears that my concern for you holds little value."
"That's not the case," Vicky immediately said, "If you want to hear, I'll tell you. Let's find a place to sit."
Vicky took Brandon away.
Ava lay on the hospital bed, looking at William with a sad gaze.
"William, can you hear me? I wish you could wake up. Give me a miracle, okay? As long as you wake up, I'll do anything. I won't make you angry again."
"William, I have explained to Alexander, and I have rejected him. Please don't be mad at me anymore, okay? Please wake up soon."
At the door of the ward, a voice suddenly came. "What are you doing? You can't go in."
"I'm looking for my sister. I know her."
"Your sister? Your sister is not here. Please leave."
Wiping away her tears, Ava sat up straight, turned her head, and saw the guard stopping Eason at the door.
"Eason, why are you here?"
"Ava." Eason waved his hand. "I finished the statement, and the police asked me to leave."
Ava said to the guard, "Let him in. I know him."
Hearing her words, the guard let him pass. Eason smoothly walked into the ward.
"Ava, the police told me that William is in this state because he was attacked."
Ava felt uncomfortable at the mention of this. She felt very sad, tears uncontrollably falling.
"Don't cry. I get anxious when you cry."
Ava nodded. "I won't cry."
She tried to control her emotions. Crying all the time wouldn't help. William definitely wouldn't want her to keep crying.
"Eason, since you came out of the police station, why did you come here again? Aren't you busy?"
"I'm not busy today. I was worried that you might be upset, so I came back to see you." Eason stared at her with concern.
"Thank you, Eason."
It seemed that every time she was at her lowest, there was always someone by her side.
"You don't have to be polite to me. I haven't done much for you. I can only offer some words of encouragement."
"It's already good enough," Ava said, "At least you are on my side."
"Of course, I will stand by your side no matter what happens. I believe you are a good person."
"Sorry for what happened today. You got hit." Ava looked guilty.
"It's okay. I don't feel any pain at all." Eason smiled brightly.
"By the way." Ava suddenly remembered something. "How is Alexander?"
She didn't know the results of the police investigation if they found out anything.
Eason said, "I don't know either. He was taken away by the police later. I don't know where he went. Sister, do you think that William ended up like this because of your ex-husband, Alexander?"
Ava shook her head. "I don't know if it was him. The police will investigate it thoroughly. Right now, I just hope William can get better soon. Maybe he will know who harmed him."
Ava turned around, staring at William, gently rubbing his hands, and massaging his fingers.
"It's all my fault. If William didn't get into trouble because of me, maybe he wouldn't be in this situation."
