Chapter 469 Words Fail to Capture it All

Ava remained steadfast by the bedside.

Brandon stood at the door, hands in his pockets. His gaze was fixed on her, eyebrows slightly furrowed, his eyes reflecting a hint of unspoken complexity.

After a moment of contemplation, he walked in.

Ava turned her head and saw Brandon approaching. She hesitated and called out, "Uncle."

Brandon responded, "You've been here with him for a long time. Vicky told me that you haven't had lunch yet, and now it's almost dark. Let me take you to have dinner."

"It's okay, I'm not hungry." Ava continued to worryingly gaze at William. She wanted to stay with him.

Otherwise, how scared he must be alone, unable to move or speak.

Brandon said, "I know you want to stay with him. However, in his current state, even if you don't eat or drink, it won't help and William will worry about you. You should take care of yourself. Otherwise, when William wakes up, he will blame us for not taking care of you."

Every time someone mentioned William's recovery, Ava's heart felt a tug, torn between clutching onto hope and succumbing to fear.

She hoped he would wake up. However, she was afraid it might just end up as wishful thinking.

"Don't force yourself. Do you want to starve yourself to death? There are bodyguards here. Don't worry. There won't be any problems. William is already in this state. Even for his sake, you need to take care of yourself."

Ava nodded. "Okay."

Brandon's words ring true. Abstaining from nourishment would be futile, especially considering her pregnancy.

She stood up, gazing at William, and reluctantly left the hospital room with Brandon.

Brandon took Ava to a nearby restaurant, and reserved a private room. Several bodyguards were standing outside the room, looking very serious.

Being alone with Brandon, Ava experienced a sense of constriction.

This man was very imposing, with an extraordinary temperament, exuding an air of nobility. He must wield a lot of power.

The Smith family had good genes. Everyone was good-looking. William's mother was a beauty, and Brandon also had a remarkable appearance.

"Brandon, is it just the two of us? Is Vicky not having dinner?" Ava asked.

Brandon replied, "She ate something herself and is still at the hospital. She's not in a good mood because of what happened to her brother. Let's eat. Don't need to worry about her."

Ava sighed, "Vicky shares a strong bond with her brother. Undoubtedly, she must be heavy with sorrow."

"Yeah, after all, they are siblings." Brandon poured a cup of coffee for Ava himself. "Speaking of siblings, I heard from Vicky about some of your past. Is your ex-husband Alexander?"

Ava's heart skipped a beat.

She wasn't worried about others knowing she had been married before. She didn't know if Vicky had mentioned her pregnancy.

Ava nodded. "Yes."

She didn't know if Brandon would criticize her. She had divorced Alexander not long ago and then married his nephew.

However, Brandon didn't criticize her as she had anticipated. Instead, he said, "I know him. He's very capable at a young age, a rare talent. SK Group is a multinational corporation that has been thriving under his management."

Ava forced a smile. "Yes."

Ava wasn't sure how Alexander was in other aspects. However, he was indeed very capable of managing the company.

Everyone had their flaws. Alexander's career was very successful. He was adept in the business world. However, in matters of love, he was disastrous.
