Chapter 699 Never Abandon, Never Give Up
"Doctor, I'll take good care of myself, I promise it'll be okay. I just want to see someone before my surgery. I'll be back soon."
The doctor replied, "Before we discovered your cervical incompetence, you had severe back pain and bleeding. Now, you need to stay in bed and rest. If you insist on going out, it will pose a great risk to both you and the baby."
"But this is urgent. I have to go out. Is there any way to minimize the harm?"
She wanted to see Alexander before the surgery.
The doctor shook his head. "There's no way around it. You can only rest in bed. Your cervical incompetence could lead to a miscarriage at any time. As a doctor, I'm strongly against you going out. If there's an emergency, it can wait until after your surgery."
Ava gently touched her belly. "Is it really that serious? I can't even go out for a bit?"
The doctor said, "I understand how you feel, but based on your test results, if you move around casually or have any negative emotions, it could easily lead to complications. By then, it would be too late for regrets."
Ava had planned to see Alexander today, but the doctor's words made her uneasy.
She was afraid of causing even the slightest harm to the baby in her belly.
"Ms. Anderson, both you and the baby are very fragile right now. You must stay in bed and rest. If anything happens to you, it could potentially affect tomorrow's surgery."
The doctor spoke seriously, and Ava didn't dare to ignore his words.
No matter how stubborn she was, she had to think about her baby.
William said, "Doctor, let me talk to my wife. If you're done here, you can go ahead with your other tasks."
The doctor nodded. "Alright, call me if you need anything."
With that, the doctor left the room.
William sat by the bed, holding Ava's hand. "Ava."
"William, I really want to see Alexander. I'm so worried about him," Ava's eyes welled up with tears. She thought about him day and night, every moment.
That extreme choice had caused her unbearable pain.
"Ava, I understand, but the doctor said you need to rest in bed. Otherwise, you and the baby won't be safe."
William heaved a soft sigh. "I had the car ready, planning to take you there, but with what the doctor said, I think you should consider the baby."
Ava lowered her head, her heart filled with sorrow.
William continued, "But whatever you decide, I will respect your choice. I believe you're a good mother."
His hand gently caressed Ava's belly.
Ava couldn't let anything happen to her baby.
Although she really wanted to see Alexander, the thought of a possible miscarriage filled her with panic.
In the end, Ava resigned. "I'll have the surgery first. Once my baby is safe, I'll go see him."
This was something that couldn't be rushed. After all, the baby's safety was paramount, she had no other choice.
William let out a sigh of relief.
He gently hugged Ava, comforting her, "It's okay. You and the baby will be fine. After that, you can do whatever you want. For now, just bear with it a little."
Ava shook her head. "I'm not bearing with it. I just feel so guilty. I owe him."
"I understand, Ava. I really get how you feel. No matter what, Alexander is still the father of your child. It's normal for you to feel sad. Don't worry, I'll be by your side. Whatever you want to do, I'll be there with you, and I won't interfere."
William's comfort and encouragement made Ava feel much better.
He was no longer arguing with her like before.
"Thank you, William. Thank you."
No matter what happened, William was always by her side, never leaving.
Now, all Ava wanted to do was to keep her baby safe and sound, and then go find Alexander.
