Chapter 1206 Confusion in One's Own Ranks

Bishop held Sunny and returned home, seeing Ava standing in front of the kitchen counter in a daze, not noticing they had come back.

"Mom," Sunny called out.

Ava heard the voice and turned around. "You're back."

She stepped forward and took Sunny from Bishop's arms, holding her close.

"Ava, are you okay? What did Alexander say to you?"

"Madison got scared and acted first, pushing Emily out as a scapegoat. Now Emily has been arrested by the police."

Bishop frowned slightly, "Emily definitely won't sit idly by. She will expose Madison."

"That's right," Ava said. "But the problem is, Madison is too good at pretending. Alexander doesn't believe Emily. He said he would investigate to see if it's really related to Madison. In the end, he still doesn't want to believe Madison is that kind of person. He subconsciously thinks it's all Emily's doing."

"Alexander is indeed capable of doing such a thing," Bishop said. "Last time, it was clear he was protecting Madison. But don't worry for now. At least it proves that writing about what they did in the book was the right move. They're in disarray now. With Emily caught, Madison is next. It's only a matter of time."

"You're right. No matter what, at least Emily is caught. The next one is Madison."

Ava's gaze grew more determined.

A few days later.

Madison saw that the novel had updated to the part where she pushed Emily out as a scapegoat.

Who on earth wrote this book?

Madison read with a pounding heart. She trembled as she took out her phone and dialed a number.

"I need to meet you."

Late at night, Madison arrived at a secluded villa. The house was isolated, with lights still on.

As she entered, she smelled the aroma of barbecue.

Madison frowned and saw a man standing by a grill in the yard, cooking meat.

She found this man increasingly strange. He was clearly a ruthless man, the mastermind behind everything, yet when meeting him, he often showed a very down-to-earth side.

Previously, he had been gardening, and today he was barbecuing.

"You're here. I grilled a lot of good food. Come and eat," Eason said warmly.

Madison had no appetite. Her face was still a bit pale. She hadn't fully recovered since her suicide attempt a few days ago.

"Emily was arrested. I pushed everything onto her. She also said I did it, but she has no evidence. Plus, with my suicide attempt, Alexander softened. This matter has been temporarily smoothed over."

Hearing Madison's straightforward words, Eason smiled faintly. "Didn't you handle it well?"

"I can't guarantee no one will believe Emily. Can you help me get rid of her?"

Eason picked up a few skewers of meat, gently blew on them, and then sprinkled some seasoning. "Emily has no evidence. What are you afraid of? The more guilty you seem, the more they'll suspect you."

"Are you sure there's no evidence? Can you be certain?"

Eason said coldly, "Madison, we're on the same side. Of course, I would eliminate all evidence. If I were that careless, I would have been exposed long ago."

"But Emily..."

"Enough," Eason interrupted her. "I know you're not at ease. I'll make sure she stays quiet. After all, I have a lot of things for you to do. I can't let you get caught."

Hearing his assurance, Madison breathed a sigh of relief.

"By the way," Madison took out her phone and showed him the novel. "The author of this novel wrote everything about Emily and me. I suspect Ava wrote it."

Eason glanced at it, "How do you know she wrote it?"

"Who else could it be? If only she were dead. Can you help me kill Ava?" Madison's eyes were a bit crazed.

Eason's gaze suddenly turned dark. He threw away the meat in his hand, turned around, and slapped Madison hard.
