Chapter 497 Saving Their Baby
Ava waited outside the operating room until nine o'clock at night.
The door of the operating room was finally opened, and the nearly five-hour surgery was finally over.
Seeing the doctor coming out, Ava hurriedly asked, "Doctor, how is he?"
The doctor replied, "The patient's appendix ruptured, and he could not be treated with laparoscopic surgery. We had to perform traditional abdominal surgery, but then we found perforations and adhesions. However, the surgery was eventually successful. He needs to take a good rest and avoid infection."
"Does that mean he will recover, right?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes, with good rest, he will recover."
Ava breathed a sigh of relief. "I see. Thank you."
Eason was wheeled out, still under anesthesia and in a daze. Ava followed him back to the ward. Eason needed care, but Ava couldn't stay with him all the time as she needed to take care of William. Since she didn't know how to reach Eason’s family, she had to ask the hospital to provide a caregiver for Eason, with the expenses covered by her.
By now, it was very late, and Eason wouldn't wake up until the next day. After the caregiver arrived at the ward, Ava urged the nursing personnel to take good care of Eason before leaving for William's ward.
William was in the VIP ward upstairs. Ava waited for the elevator for a long time, and was eager to see William. Given that it was only a three-story building, she decided to take the nearby staircase.
However, after only climbing one floor, she panted for breath and felt her head swimming.
Suddenly, her legs gave out, and her whole body fell backward. She instinctively reached for the handrail, but it was out of reach.
She suddenly fell into a warm and broad embrace, feeling the warmth of the person's body against her back. Ava breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, she didn't fall to the ground, or the consequences would have been too ghastly to contemplate.
"Thank you." After standing steadily, Ava turned around to thank the person who held her up.
However, when she saw the person, she was startled. "Alexander, why is it you?"
"Isabella is also in this hospital. Is it strange to see me here?" Alexander replied indifferently.
Ava felt uneasy. It wasn't strange to meet him in this hospital, but why did she happen to encounter him in the staircase? Just as she fell, he supported her with the hand.
She sensed that he was like a shadow trailing her. She always felt as though there was a pair of eyes watching her from afar. Could it be him?
After calming down, Ava said, "Regardless, thank you."
He saved their baby.
Ava turned to continue upstairs.
Alexander followed.
Ava turned her head. "Why are you following me?"
"Are the stairs belonging to you? Am I not allowed to go upstairs?" Alexander retorted.
Ava had no choice but to let him take this route.
Ava held onto the handrail tightly, carefully climbing up the stairs step by step.
Seeing her struggling, Alexander couldn't help but ask, "Are you taken ill? You should see a doctor."
"It's none of your business."
"Indeed, it is none of my business. However, it seems that it's also none of your business. You don't care about your health at all."
Ava stopped and turned around. "Whether I care about my health or not is none of your concern. Stop talking about it. I am married now."
