"What's your relationship with Evelyn?" Ava asked.

She had no respect for Evelyn now and she was filled with resentment toward Evelyn.

"No relation, of course."

"Then why is she here?" Ava pressed.

"Here's the thing," the man said. "At that time, she was in the hands of those kidnappers. Later she sold you out to the kidnappers for self-preservation. I managed to get her out and sent her to the wedding to tell Alexander you had been kidnapped."

"Why did you do that?"

"You mean, why did I have Evelyn tell Alexander you were kidnapped?"

Ava nodded, "What do you want from Alexander? Is it just to play some boring games?"

The man leaned in close and whispered in her ear, "I like playing games, and the unknown ones are even more exciting to me."

At his words, Ava's scalp tingled in fear.

Ava turned her head to look at Evelyn and asked, "What are you planning to do with her?"

"What do you think?" the man asked. "Maybe I can hand her over to you, and you can do whatever you want with her."

Ava shook her head. "No need."

Evelyn had already been beaten half to death. What else could she do to her? She couldn't possibly beat her like that psycho.

"You're so kind. Are you sure you don't want to deal with her? If you don't, I will."

Ava turned her head to the side and said, Do as you please."

Evelyn was startled by this and pleaded, "Ava, you can't give me to him. Please, save me. I'll do whatever you want!"

Evelyn would rather fall into Ava's hands than this psycho's. She knew Ava could save her; with just one word from Ava, this man would hand her over to Ava.

Hearing Evelyn's pleas, Ava seemed a bit annoyed. She frowned slightly and said, "You betrayed me, why should I let you serve me now? With someone like you, even if you were to serve me, you'd definitely stab me in the back."

"I won't. I know I was wrong. Ava, after all, I'm your aunt. For the sake of your parents, I'm begging you."

She ignored Evelyn's cries for help. Any softness on her part would only give Evelyn more chances to hurt her in the future.
