Chapter 833 Small and Insignificant

As Madison walked in, everyone stared.

Looking at the familiar face, Mia was shocked

George, next to her, had the same surprised look.

They all knew Madison just looked like Ava, not actually Ava.

Scarlett was dozing off on the couch.

Alexander walked over, bent down, and said, "Grandma, Ava is here."

Hearing "Ava," Scarlett immediately looked up and saw the familiar face.

She was stunned, then confused, sensing something was off.

Everyone went silent.

They wondered, 'Is Scarlett lucid now?'

"Grandma, didn't you want to see Ava? Look, Ava is here," Alexander said again.

"Ava, you're not a little girl anymore." Scarlett reached out. "Let me see."

Madison felt nervous and glanced at Alexander.

He nodded, reassuring her.

Madison gathered her courage, sat next to Scarlett, and said sweetly, "Grandma, I came to see you."

"That's wonderful, it really is Ava."

Scarlett gently touched her face. "We haven't seen each other in a while, and you've grown so much. I barely recognized you!"

Madison smiled, "Maybe it's because I've been eating well. Grandma, I'm sorry I haven't visited in a long time."

"You kids are busy, it's okay. As long as I see you all safe, I'm relieved. By the way, you're in college now, right?"

Madison nodded. "Yes, I'm in college."

"That's great. Alexander, come here." Scarlett waved.

Alexander walked over. "Grandma, what's up?"

"Why are you standing there? Sit next to Ava."

Alexander awkwardly sat down to keep up the act.

Scarlett said, "Alexander, I'm getting old and could die anytime. Ava will be in your care; you must take good care of her, understand?"

"Don't say that, Grandma. You'll live a long life," Alexander said sadly.

"No matter what, I'll die before you guys. Promise me."

Alexander nodded. "I will, Grandma. I'll take good care of her."

"Good to hear." Scarlett took Madison's hand and placed it with Alexander's.

"You two must be happy together. I want to see you get married and have a child."

Scarlett smiled kindly.

Alexander felt uneasy but hid it, "Grandma, it's still early. We'll talk about it later."

"It's not early; you're both grown up."

Scarlett seemed to have a headache. She rubbed her forehead. "I'm tired. I want to rest."

Scarlett often had these sudden changes.

"Mom, you should go back to your room and rest." Mia stepped forward to support her. "I'll help you."

With Mia's help, Scarlett walked to her room.

Before leaving, she turned to look at Alexander and Madison.

"You two must be happy together, understand?"

Alexander nodded and took Madison's hand.

"I understand."

Madison's heart raced, and she felt emotional.

She looked at Alexander, feeling conflicted.

She knew he was holding her hand for Scarlett's sake, just pretending. But she couldn't help feeling a bit happy.

She was pretending to be Ava, so close to him.

Loving him made her feel incredibly small and insignificant.
