Chapter 964 Back Down For Now
This was the first time Alexander saw Ava scold William.
He watched them with a heavy heart, feeling a bit of relief.
In the past, Ava would always jump to William's defense.
Even though he felt a bit better, he was still worried.
Ava wasn't defending William because of Vincent.
Despite their 11-year relationship, Ava had always stood by William without a second thought.
It showed how much William meant to her.
But this Vincent guy, in just a few days, had made Ava stop defending William.
Alexander had a bad feeling about this.
Vincent seemed like a powerful intruder, capable of easily messing up existing relationships.
"Ava, are you blaming me?" William's heart raced, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"If you think I'm blaming you, then yeah, I am." Ava felt exhausted; she didn't want to blame William, but she couldn't help herself.
Things were such a mess, and William always acted like everything he did was for her own good, causing her all sorts of trouble.
"Ava, I was worried something might happen to you. How could I directly accuse you over the phone? What if there were bad people around you? So I had to secretly look for you. I was worried about you. Can't you see it from my perspective? You went out at night, and I didn't know where you went. The only possibility was that you went to find Alexander. And I was right; you did go to him. Even if your disappearance wasn't his doing, it was because of him. If you hadn't gone to find him, you wouldn't have disappeared. If I didn't go to Alexander to find you, who else could I go to?" William explained.
"I know you were worried about me. I never doubted that. But can you stop dodging your mistakes?" Ava felt very frustrated. "William, you make me feel exhausted."
William was silent, thinking, 'Mistakes? Exhausted? Ava actually used those words with me. She's changed.'
William looked at Ava with a hurt expression.
Ava sighed. "No matter what, what you did was really too much. Even if you couldn't find me, you shouldn't have shot and blown up someone's house without knowing the full story. You should have at least asked me first."
"Ava, I really know I was wrong. I promise you, it won't happen again. I'll do better next time." William excitedly grabbed her hand. "Please don't blame me, okay?"
Ava was angry, and he had to back down for now.
Alexander saw William's pitiful look and sneered, "You really are an actor."
William raised his eyes and gave him a cold glance. "Alexander, what am I acting about? Can you deny that you didn't hit me?"
"That's right, I did hit you," Alexander admitted straightforwardly.
"Did you hear that? He admitted it. I was just trying to find you, and he was so violent!" William said.
Alexander sneered, "William, you know why I hit you. Why don't you tell Ava the truth about what happened? Why do you only say I hit you and not what you did?"
Alexander was used to William's performance. He was a sneaky person, always playing the victim, acting innocent, as if he was always wronged and it was everyone else's fault, and he did nothing wrong.
Even if there were innocent people in this world, William was not one of them.
