Chapter 439 Manic State

Ava had never seen Alexander in such a manic state before. It was as if he had lost his mind, even a bit hysterical. However, the emotions in his eyes were so real.

"I really don't understand. Why is this happening? You think I don't love you, but it's been ten years. Have you ever loved me? Was there a moment..."

"I love you!"

This sentence was almost roared out of Alexander.

Hot tears fell from his eyes. He pulled Ava into his arms, wishing to embed her in his body.

"How could I not love you? I never wanted to treat you as my sister. That wasn't the truth. You are my wife. How could I not love my wife?"

Alexander closed his eyes, feeling her warmth and smelling her fragrance. He missed this scent so much. Since the divorce, he had never held her like this, so close.

The desire to hold her like this forever, never ceasing.

He really missed her, almost losing his mind.

So, Alexander came to find Ava.

He couldn't hold back anymore.

Ava's tears, like a burst dam, finally poured out uncontrollably.

She cried bitterly, clenched her fists, and forcefully pounded Alexander's shoulders and back.

"Alexander, you jerk, you jerk!"

Alexander, the man she had loved for ten years, had hurt her to the core. Now he told her that he loved her, that he divorced her for her sake.

How ridiculous.

"I'm a jerk, I am!" Alexander closed his eyes in pain. "Not only a jerk, I'm also a fool. I let you go. Ava, come back to me. Please come back to me!"

"No, no!" Ava cried, "You big jerk, how could you treat me like this? Do you know how much effort it took for me to heal from the pain you caused me? And now you suddenly tell me you love me. You are just too ridiculous. I hate you. I hate you!"

"Ava," Alexander excitedly held her face and said, "Don't hate me, please. Give me a chance, please. After all, we have been in love for a decade, a decade! Tell me, do you also love me. If you do not love me, why then do tears of sorrow fall for me from your eyes? You do love me. Please, I implore you, tell me!"

Ava bit her lip tightly.

Her lips were almost bitten through.

Tears kept falling.

"It's too late, Alexander/ It's already too late."

It was too late for him to say these things now.

"It's not too late. Ava, it's not too late. I'm right here with you." Alexander held her face, closed his eyes, and deeply kissed her lips.

Ava stared blankly, her mind empty.

She used to cherish his kisses and closeness. Yet now, all he brought her was pain, even as he professed his love for her.

She came to her senses and anxiously raised her hand, wanting to push him away. However, Alexander, as if losing his mind, pressed her against the wall with an impulse to swallow her whole.

Ava whimpered, "Alexander, we can't do this. You..."

She pushed his head forcefully, shaking her head desperately. "We can't do this."

"Why not? Ava, I miss you so much."

"Alexander, I'm already with..."

Before Ava could finish her sentence, her lips were once again sealed by his kiss.

She tried to speak desperately, but Alexander didn't give her a chance. He lifted her body directly and walked towards the room.

Ava was in a panic. "Alexander."

Ava had already been flung onto the bed by Alexander.
