Chapter 503 Encountering In The Elevator
"William, I want to check on my friend. He should be awake now. I'll help him contact his family." Seeing Ava looking worried, how could William not let her go?
"Sure, go ahead."
Ava thanked William for his understanding. "Thank you. I'll be back soon."
"Darling, don't promise me. I'm afraid I'll feel lost. You can take your time. It's okay." He didn't want to anticipate her quick return like last night, only to wait anxiously for hours.
After tucking him in, Ava left.
The elevator doors opened, and Ava looked up to see a man standing inside.
Alexander had his hands in his pockets, staring at Ava.
"I'll wait for the next elevator." Ava took a step back, not wanting to be in a confined space with him.
"Fine. Take your time." Alexander pressed the close button.
As Ava saw the elevator doors about to close, she suddenly changed her mind and immediately pressed the button again, causing the doors to reopen.
Ava walked in and pressed the close button.
Upon careful consideration, she realized she had no reason to fear Alexander. Avoiding him intentionally only showed that she hadn't let go yet.
"How is William?" Alexander suddenly asked.
"He's well."
Alexander said, "No matter how well he is, he still needs to stay in the hospital for a month before being discharged."
Ava frowned. "What's it to you? Why are you inquiring about him?"
"The people in the whole hospital are all talking about him, because it is a miracle that he wakes up. I can't help but be curious."
Seeing Alexander's indifferent expression, Ava snorted, "It might be a miracle for us but a disaster for you. You hope William dies so you can save Isabella."
Alexander furrowed his brow. "Do you still hold the belief that I was the one who did that? Despite the lack of evidence from the police, you're quick to label me as such, purely on speculation!"
He didn't care if anyone misunderstood or doubted him, but it was Ava, the person he cared most about.
"I don't know if it was you. However, it's strange that Isabella was critically ill, and just at that moment, William had an accident, while his heart matched Isabella's perfectly. After I refused to sign, another injured person was brought to the hospital, which was also a match for Isabella. How coincidental that there were two matches in a short period? Are suitable hearts so easy to find?"
Ava was full of suspicion and sarcasm. She just felt something was off about Isabella. She didn't know if it was related to Alexander. However, if it wasn't him helping her, who else could do so?
Finding a suitable heart was difficult, almost impossible for ordinary people. However, for the wealthy and powerful, it wasn't a challenge. They could always find ways to obtain what they wanted through means inaccessible to the ordinary.
Alexander's mind seemed to be in a state of chaos. He looked at Ava, utterly bewildered.
Struggling to compose himself, he was about to speak when the elevator doors opened, and Ava walked out directly.
"Wait a minute." Alexander grabbed her hand and pulled her back into the elevator, then closed the doors.
"What are you doing?" Ava frowned, trying hard to shake off his grip.
Alexander randomly pressed a floor button and pushed Ava against the elevator wall. "Ava, what did you mean just now?"
