Chapter 930 Love Me, Love My Dog
William's heart just about melted.
"Sunny, are you smiling at me? Can you do it again, please?" he asked, almost desperate.
Tears welled up in William's eyes. This was Sunny's first smile, and it was for him.
For the first time, he really felt the joy of being a dad. Sure, he always cared for the kid, but there was always a bit of a wall.
After all, Sunny was Alexander's kid, and William treated him well mostly because of Ava, hoping to win her over.
But now, in this moment, he felt a real love for Sunny.
It felt like Sunny was his own son, and blood ties didn't matter anymore. As long as Sunny smiled at him, nothing else did.
Sunny smiled again, his eyes clear and bright.
When he smiled, it was like a little flower blooming, sweet and charming, with laughter as clear and lovely as silver bells, touching the soul like a heavenly tune.
That innocent smile made you feel the beauty and hope of life, filling anyone who saw it with happiness.
"Sunny, my good boy." William carefully reached out to touch his face, afraid of hurting his delicate skin.
"You get me, Sunny. Only you understand how I really feel. Your mom doesn't get it, she never did," William whispered.
Sunny's little arms waved, his tiny hands like white feathers, lightly patting the air, almost like he was dancing to a happy tune, trying to reach William.
"Sunny, do you want to touch my face?" William asked.
He smiled gently and brought his face closer.
Sunny reached out his tiny hand and gently touched William's face.
The baby's eyes were full of joy and curiosity, his pure gaze exploring the world. When he looked at William, there was no fear, just curiosity, his eyes pure and innocent.
A child's eyes held no complexity, just innocence and curiosity.
William gently held his tiny hand and kissed his fingers, "I'm sorry, Sunny, I won't be harsh with you anymore."
Sunny smiled again. For a baby, the world was simple. He liked whoever made him feel safe.
William had been taking care of him personally all this time.
At night, William would lull him to sleep, change his diapers, and feed him.
When he cried, William would comfort him, even if Sunny didn't understand, William would tell him stories and sing to him.
So Sunny got used to William's voice and embrace. When William held him, he mostly didn't cry, but when others did, he likely would.
Because William made him feel safe. A child understood nothing but fear and safety, and William made him feel safe.
Even though William had just yelled at him and scared him, he quickly became gentle again, and the child's sense of security returned.
"Sunny, you're so good. I'm so lucky to have you. Don't worry, even if we don't share blood, I'll treat you like my own son. I really hope you grow up quickly and call me dad. When you grow up, you'll surely stand up to those who bullied your mom and hurt me, right? Including that guy named Alexander," William said.
