Chapter 406 Cutting Ties

In his memory, she seemed to have never said she didn't love him, nor did she say she loved him.

So, it was a mystery, and he wondered if these were just his speculations. He thought Ava didn't love him, and he hoped she would be unhappy.

A wave of bitterness surged in Ava's heart. She raised her head uncomfortably, silently staring at him, a hint of a smile on her lips, tinged with irony. "Don't you think you're funny? You are asking me such a question now. What exactly do you want from me?"

"I want your love, and I want to know the truth," Alexander said, his hands on either side of her head, drawing her into his embrace, leaning in close to her. He was much taller than her. As he spoke to her, he lowered his head, very close to her. "So, tell me now. What are your true feelings for me? I want the truth."

It wasn't just Alexander who couldn't understand Ava. Ava couldn't understand Alexander either.

They couldn't understand each other, but it seemed like something needed to be uncovered, yet they were afraid to do so.

They remained in a deadlock, leading to more and more misunderstandings.

"You want to hear the truth, don't you?" Ava asked. "If I tell you the truth, can our ending be changed?"

"If we don't say anything, who knows how things will turn out? Ava, you have too many things hidden from me. Now, I want you to tell me everything, whether your true feelings for me or what you've been hiding from me."

Alexander felt like a fool. He was the last to know about Ava's secrets.

Even William that outsider knew before him.

Ava lowered her eyelids helplessly.

This man wanted to know what she was thinking, but he spoke so conservatively.

He didn't dare to make any promises. However, he wanted to know her feelings for him after the divorce. He was really ridiculous.

"I can tell you everything, but I have one condition."

"What condition?" Alexander asked.

"Do not hasten to inquire so, for these terms are surely beyond your capacity." She had already foreseen the result.

"How do you know if you don't say it? I can satisfy you with anything." He had everything, and if he didn't, he would get it for her as long as she could tell the truth.

"Really?" Seeing Alexander's confident appearance, Ava almost fell into the same illusion again, but only almost. She was still very rational.

"Of course, it's true. What's the condition!"

Ava raised her head slightly, looking at him with calm eyes, and said in a quiet voice, "My condition is for you to part ways with Isabella, sever ties with her, and never see her again."

Alexander was stunned, a hint of astonishment flashing in his eyes, thinking he had misheard. "What did you say?"

"I said every word clearly. You heard me." Ava didn't want to repeat. She could see from Alexander's astonished eyes that he couldn't handle just hearing this question.

"Are you out of your mind?" Alexander frowned, a hint of annoyance flashing in his eyes. "How could you make such a demand?" "

"I just did," Ava said lightly, "That's my condition. Can you do it? If you can, I'll tell you everything. However, if you can't, there is no point in you knowing anything at all."

"Ava." Alexander held her shoulders with both hands, his face close to hers, enunciating each word, "Don't play me."

"I'm not playing you. I'm serious. You divorced me because of her. Now you want to know my feelings and what I'm hiding from you, then you have to pay the price. You can't have everything your way."

'Can't let it be his way every time.'
