Chapter 1043 Will You Love Me?

However, Bishop did have a point. Who would be happy if their house got blown up?

Ava didn't get mad at Bishop, after all, it was indeed Alexander's fault.

"I apologize on his behalf, I'm sorry," Ava said. "Don't worry, I'll compensate you for your house. How about I compensate you now? I'll give you a check."

Ava took out a check from her bag. "Ten thousand dollars, plus your house. Name your price."

Bishop stared at the check in Ava's hand for a long time without saying anything.

Ava asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell again?"

Bishop shook his head. "No, I just haven't decided how much I want."

Ava thought for a moment and said, "I'll have someone appraise the value of your house."

Bishop added, "Can you take me out for a walk? We can talk about the money later."

Ava put the check back in her bag and said, "Alright."

Ava brought over a wheelchair, carefully helped Bishop into it, and then pushed him around the hospital park.

In the gradually setting sun, Bishop sat quietly in the wheelchair, the gentle breeze brushing against his face.

The orange-red sun cast its light at an angle, illuminating every blade of grass on the lawn, making them glow with vibrant colors.

The breeze weaved through the grass, gently caressing each delicate leaf, creating a soft rustling sound.

The small lake in the park reflected the afterglow of the sunset, like a precious mirror. The water was clear and tranquil, like a wordless poem.

Ava, worried he might catch a chill, brought a blanket and covered his legs.

Ava comforted him, "When your injury heals, you'll be able to be lively and active again."

Bishop turned his head and gave her a gentle smile. "Can I ask you a question?"

Ava asked, "What question?"

Bishop said, "Will a man like me ever be loved by a woman?"

Ava was taken aback, not expecting him to ask that.

Ava squatted down and said, "Of course, you will. You're a good person, someone will love you."

Bishop added, "But what if I end up hurting her? Even if there is such a person, I might not be with her."

Ava comforted him, "Why do you think that? If you're worried about your PTSD, you can see a therapist. There will always be a way."

"It's not my PTSD, it's..."

At this point, Bishop stopped and gave a self-deprecating smile.

Bishop voice rose, "Never mind, there's no point in guessing about things that haven't happened yet."

"Bishop," Ava said, "if you truly love each other, you'll overcome all obstacles."

Bishop stared at her in silence for a long time before looking away. "I hope you're right."

Ava looked at Bishop, sensing that he might have someone he liked, but seeing his sadness, it seemed unlikely that he and that person could be together.

She hoped that one day Bishop could become an ordinary person, living a simple and happy life. She believed that day would come.

Bishop said, "Ava, promise me one thing."

"What is it?" Ava asked.

Bishop added, "When we leave, don't tell anyone you know Vincent or Bishop."

Seeing his serious expression, Ava could guess why he said that.

Ava nodded. "Alright, I understand."
