Chapter 1208 Going Out Late at Night
Alexander lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. His heart felt like it was on fire, and his mind kept thinking about Ava.
Whether he opened or closed his eyes, all he could see was Ava.
Alexander was extremely agitated. He turned over, opened the drawer, and took out a bottle of pills.
Without the pills, he couldn't calm down.
Just then, his phone rang.
Alexander picked up the phone from the bedside table and glanced at the caller ID. It was Madison.
He tossed the phone aside.
The continuous ringing annoyed Alexander, and he finally picked up the phone and answered, "What is it?"
"Alexander, help me, please help me."
Alexander's face changed. "What happened?"
"He's chasing me. Can I come to you? I have nowhere else to go. I'm so scared."
"Who's chasing you? Where are you now?"
"I'm... It's so dark, I can't see clearly. I'm hiding in an alley. I passed a bar called Starlight Pub. I turned right into an alley, and I'm hiding here. I can't talk anymore, I think he's coming. I have to hang up."
Madison hung up the phone.
Worried that something might happen to her, Alexander quickly changed clothes and left the house.
Alexander and his men soon found Madison. She was hiding in the alley next to a trash can. When she heard footsteps, she was terrified. When the debris was lifted, she hugged her head and trembled, "No, please let me go, please."
"Madison, it's me." Alexander squatted down and grabbed her arm. "What happened to you?"
Madison let out a scream, but soon recognized him and immediately cried and threw herself into his arms, "Alexander, you finally came. I thought I was going to die. I was so scared."
The alley was dim, and it was hard to see clearly. Alexander's subordinate shone a flashlight on Madison.
Seeing Madison disheveled and covered in injuries, it was clear someone had beaten her badly. Alexander's brow furrowed.
"How did this happen? Who hit you?"
"Alexander, I... I..." Madison couldn't finish her sentence and fainted in Alexander's arms.
"Madison!" Alexander called her name twice, and seeing no response, he immediately picked her up and left the alley.
When Madison woke up again, it was already daylight.
Alexander was sitting on the sofa, resting.
Madison, enduring the pain, sat up from the bed. Her whole body felt like it had been taken apart.
That Eason was really ruthless, hitting her without hesitation.
"Alexander."
She called out to Alexander on the sofa.
Hearing the noise, Alexander opened his eyes. Seeing Madison awake, he stood up. "You're awake. What exactly happened? Who hit you?"
"Do you remember my ex-boyfriend?" Madison asked.
Alexander: "He came back to find you?"
Madison nodded, tears streaming down her face. "I thought I had gotten rid of him, but he came back. He seems to have gotten into some trouble recently and asked me for money. But I don't have much money, and even if I did, I wouldn't give it to him. He got furious and hit me. I ran out of the house desperately, not knowing where to go or what to do, so I called you."
"Then why didn't you call the police?" Alexander asked coldly.
Madison looked up at him pitifully. "What good would it do to call the police? The police would at most detain him for a few days and then release him. He would still come after me. If calling the police worked, there wouldn't be so many women repeatedly suffering from domestic violence."
