Chapter 324 Her Brother

"Don't hang up the phone." Alexander quickly said, "I won't disturb you. Keep looking at the documents. Just don't hang up."

He wanted to accompany her in her busyness.

Ava looked puzzled. "Why?"

"No reason. Just don't hang up. Keep working."

"Okay then." Ava didn't know what Alexander wanted to do. She pushed the phone aside and continued to work.

Finally, she finished reading all the documents and looked exhausted.

She walked into the living room and saw Mia cooking in the kitchen.

Hearing footsteps, Mia turned her head. "Are you done with your work?"

Ava nodded. "Yes."

"You've been busy all night. I thought you would have slept last night."

Ava smiled, sat at the table, and slumped on it weakly. "I wanted to finish reading them all, but before I knew it, it was morning."

Ava placed her phone on the table.

Mia placed the breakfast on the table and noticed that Ava was still on a call with Alexander.

Mia chuckled lightly. "You're really dedicated. Alex thought I was bullying you and scolded me."

Ava sat up straight. "Really? Alexander, did you really do that?"

Ava questioned her phone directly and without reservation.

"I didn't, Ava. Don't listen to her. I didn't scold her," Alexander denied, afraid of being scolded himself.

Mia rolled her eyes. "You still won't admit it."

"If I never said those words, how can I admit it?" Alexander defended himself.

Generally, only mothers would speak ill of their sons' wives.

But in the Mitchell family, it was the opposite.

"Never mind, I'm your biological mother. I won't argue with you. Anyway, Ava will definitely believe me," Mia said confidently, sure that Ava would support her.

"Ava," Alexander asked, "do you believe me, yes or no?"

"I don't believe you," Ava impatiently replied.

Alexander felt a little aggrieved. "I was worried. You told me last night that you slept, but you didn't sleep at all. What were you busy with?"

"I was looking at company information," Ava replied honestly.

"What company?"

"Why are you asking so many questions?" Mia said to the phone, "Ava and I are going to have breakfast. Bye for now."

"One moment. Ava, after breakfast, you should go to sleep right away, understood?"

Ava yawned and rubbed her nose, "Why should I listen to you? You're not my husband."

"I am your brother."

This seemed to be Alexander's final bottom line.

"You're not my brother." Ava weakly slumped on the table. "I don't acknowledge you as my brother."

Perhaps because she was too tired last night, she now felt dizzy and exhausted, speaking without thinking.

She simply didn't want to acknowledge him as her brother. She had no brother, especially not Alexander as her brother.

"What did you say? Why don't you acknowledge it?" Alexander became slightly annoyed.

"We used to be married, and now we're divorced. How can you be my brother? Stop it," Ava said.

"Ava, even if we're divorced..."

"Alright, I understand. Goodbye." Ava knew what he was going to say next, so she hung up directly and weakly buried her head in her arms.

She was so tired.
