Chapter 864 His Exact Words

Madison tugged at the corner of her mouth, "Ms. Thompson, I think you got it twisted. My thing with Mr. Mitchell ain't all that. I barely know him, and..."

Madison felt a bit down and sighed, her head hanging low.

"It's 'cause of his ex, Ava, right? He must've told you about her?" Mia asked.

Madison nodded, her eyes dim, "Yeah, his heart's all wrapped up in Ava. No one else stands a chance."

"Do you wanna stand a chance?" Mia asked.

Madison's heart skipped a beat, "Ms. Thompson, I don't have the right. How could I even dare? Mr. Mitchell's way outta my league, and I'm just... me."

She thought, 'I'm just an ordinary chick, nothing special. Why would Mr. Mitchell even look my way?'

"Don't sell yourself short," Mia said. "Be real with me, do you like Alexander?"

Madison's face turned as red as a ripe apple.

How could she even answer that? She always felt she wasn't good enough.

The Mitchell family was top-tier; she could never measure up.

"If you really respect me, spill the truth. Don't hide it. I hate being lied to," Mia's tone got serious.

"Of course I like Mr. Mitchell. From the moment I first saw him, I liked him," Madison admitted.

Mia nodded, "There you go. If you like him, go for it."

Madison looked at her in disbelief, "Ms. Thompson, what did you just say?"

"Madison, go after Alexander. Find a way to be with him, okay? Heal his wounds, live a good life with him, and help him forget Ava, okay?"

Seeing Mia's serious gaze, with a hint of pleading, Madison was floored. "Ms. Thompson, why? I feel so ordinary. Do I really have a shot?"

Mia replied, "You're not ordinary. I think you're a good girl, and you deserve Alexander. Stop thinking you're not good enough. Everyone's got the right to chase love, no matter who they are."

"Ms. Thompson, you really think so?" Madison asked.

"Of course, otherwise I wouldn't have reached out to you about Alexander. In my heart, I feel you're the only one who can save him. No one else can. He can only be a bit gentle with you." Mia looked at her seriously and said, "You should know the real reason. You look a bit like Ava. When he sees you, he might think of her."

After Mia finished speaking, Madison fell silent.

Yeah, she knew she looked like Ava. She was even willing to be a stand-in before, but Alexander had shut her down hard.

Seeing Madison quiet, Mia said, "Madison, I'm not saying you should be Ava's stand-in. I just think this is a good shot. You like Alexander, so why not use this to get close to him? Over time, he'll fall for you. Ava's already married, after all."

"Ms. Thompson, but, but he can't possibly like me. He made it crystal clear." Madison thought of those words, and it still stung.

Mia said earnestly, "You two are just getting started. He and Ava were together for eleven years. So, there's plenty of time."

Hearing they had been together for eleven years, Madison's eyes got a bit moist.

Madison asked, "How can I replace such a long relationship?"

"Why can't you? Ava married someone else, replacing Alexander with another guy. Alexander told me that in this world, no one is irreplaceable," Mia added.

"Really?" Madison was shocked, "Did he really say that?"

"Yeah, those were his exact words. Since he said that, it means he thinks that way. He's just a bit stubborn right now, but as long as you're by his side, he'll realize who he truly loves."
