Chapter 1055 I Am Not Willing

Not long after Ava left, Dalton arrived at the hospital. Seeing that William had hurt himself, he was very upset.

"As my son, why do you risk your life over a woman? We thought you would be quick-witted, but you just keep doing dumb things. If we had known this, we wouldn't have arranged for you to marry Ava. You almost lost your life."

No matter what, in Dalton's heart, William was definitely more important than anyone else.

"Dad, I'm not that stupid. The bullet didn't hit my heart and I would never let myself die. I just want to win Ava back."

"Did you win her back?" Dalton asked coldly. "Isn't she still going to divorce you? How are you going to handle this?"

"Divorce?" William laughed. "She can forget about it. Once I get rid of Alexander, let's see what hope Ava has left! I love her so much, willing to raise her child. What more could she want? I made just one mistake, and she treats me like this. I won't accept it!"

Seeing the hostility in William's eyes, Dalton furrowed his brows.

"Have you ever thought that sometimes not accepting it doesn't help?"

"Why wouldn't it help?" William said. "Dad, aren't you also not accepting it? That's why you're still entangled with Mia."

Dalton asked, "You know about that?"

"Yes, I know everything," William said. "Dad, after all these years, you managed to get Mia. So there is no need for me to worry about it since Ava will definitely be mine. I'll do whatever it takes to get her. I want to keep her tied down until my wounds heal. I won't let her leave me again, even if I have to keep her locked up every day!"

Vicky stood outside the hospital room, covering her mouth, her back cold with fear.

She wasn't mistaken. William had really changed. He was no longer the same as before. Why had William become like this?

Vicky didn't dare to go in. She hurriedly left to find Brandon.

Brandon had just finished a meeting when he received Vicky's call.

Hearing what Vicky said on the phone, Brandon furrowed his brows tightly. Then, he went to the hospital and appeared in William's room with Vicky.

Dalton had left half an hour earlier.

Seeing Brandon and Vicky, William leaned against the headboard, smiling faintly.

"Brandon, Vicky, you're here. News sure travels fast."

William noticed that Brandon and Vicky looked very serious, as if they had something on their minds.

So he spoke up, "What's wrong? Don't worry; the bullet didn't hit my heart. It's not a big deal. I'll be fine in a few days."

But they remained silent. They looked at William, wanting to say something but hesitate, making William feel a bit uneasy.

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

Brandon pulled up a chair and sat down.

"William, I heard you were with Ava when you got hurt."

William said, "She didn't hurt me."

"Of course, I know she didn't hurt you," Brandon said. "How could she possibly shoot you? I heard you two had a fight, and she wants to divorce you."

William tugged at the corner of his mouth. "It seems you know everything about me."
