Chapter 669 You Deserve It

Evelyn's words made Ava feel increasingly disgusted. She was glad that she hadn't softened; such a person didn't deserve her kindness.

"If it weren't for me, could you marry into a wealthy family? Could you live a good life? I just asked you to lend me some money, and you wouldn't even do that, and you just watched me get into trouble. How could you do this to me? What did I do wrong to hurt you? You deserved it!"

Evelyn, furious and with a vicious look on her face, continued, "You're just a miser. You obviously have so much money but wouldn't lend me any. You were the one trying to harm me first!"

Ava snorted coldly, "Say whatever you want. You won't have a good ending anyway."

Ava ignored her.

Evelyn struggled to get up from the ground and walked towards her, but the man blocked her way, hands on his hips, looking down at her. "You want to hit her?"

He raised his fist, ready to punch her.

Evelyn fell to the ground, holding her head and curling up in the corner in fear.

Evelyn cried out, "Please let me go, I beg you. I'll do anything you want."

Evelyn had always been someone without any scruples; as long as she could survive, she would do anything.

"Your niece doesn't even care if you do anything for her. Now you're begging me? I'm at a loss for words. A disobedient servant like you, who knows when you might betray your master."

He squatted down and said, "Your niece doesn't care about you anymore. What are you going to do?"

The man pulled out a small knife from his pocket. It wasn't long, just a small one, but it was extremely sharp. He gently ran his finger along the blade, a flicker of mockery flashing in his eyes.

"She's not my niece," Evelyn yelled angrily. "She's not even my brother's daughter. She doesn't deserve to be part of the Anderson family. She doesn't deserve it!"

Ava was shocked to hear this and turned her head. "What did you say?"

She didn't know if Evelyn was saying this out of anger or if she really wasn't her father's daughter.

"You're not my brother's biological daughter," Evelyn said. "You don't belong to the Anderson family. You have no blood relation to them. You blame me for abandoning you and spending their compensation money, but I'm their real family. While you are not related to them by blood. I have no obligation to raise you."

Ava was stunned.

The man chuckled lightly, "Even if Ava isn't your their biological daughter, she's still the daughter they raised. Legally, she is their daughter. You took their compensation money and didn't raise their daughter. Now you're bringing up the fact that she is not the part of your family. If you really feel she has nothing to do with you, that you have no obligation to her, then why are you back asking her for money? When you couldn't get the money, you sold her out to kidnappers in a fit of rage."

"I..." Evelyn stammered.

"Can't find your words, huh?" the man said, raising his hand and punching her in the head. "Your damned illogical nonsense makes me angry. I can't stand people who can't think straight. You're worse than an idiot, lacking even basic common sense. Can't you try to be a bit smarter?"

He stood up and gave her a few harsh kicks.

"Ahhh!" Evelyn screamed in pain, curling up into a ball.
