Chapter 697 Going to Find Him
"We knew you were kidnapped, and we were all worried. Alexander said you were rescued and that you're safe now, but he doesn't want to see you. We asked him why, but he wouldn't say."
Ava wiped the tears from her face. "Mom, please, tell me where he is now. I need to see him before my surgery. I have something to say to him. Please, or I won't be able to go through with the surgery peacefully."
Mia was silent for a moment. After a long pause, she asked, "What if Alexander still doesn't want to see you?"
"I don't know, but I have to find him now. Please, Mom, for the sake of my baby," Ava pleaded.
Just then, a voice came from outside the door, "Ava, where are you?"
Ava was startled by the voice. William had woken up.
She quickly said to Mia, "Mom, text me the address. I'll go find him."
"Do you want me to pick you up?" Mia asked.
"No need, Mom. I can go by myself. Just give me the address," Ava responded.
"Alright then," Mia agreed.
After hanging up, Ava opened the door and walked out.
In the hallway, William was anxiously looking for her. Hearing the noise, he turned and saw Ava. He immediately rushed up and hugged her.
"Where have you been? I woke up and found you gone. Scared me to death," he exclaimed.
"I just went out for some fresh air," Ava replied.
William glanced at the empty hospital room. "Then why did you go to an empty room for fresh air? Are you trying to avoid being in the same room with me?"
"No, it's just that…"
Ava didn't know how to explain. William saw the phone in her hand and suddenly understood. "Were you on the phone?"
Ava nodded. "Yes, I was looking for Alexander."
At the mention of "Alexander," William's expression changed slightly. However, he didn't seem as repulsed as before. He looked much calmer now. "Did you find him?"
As soon as William finished speaking, Ava's phone screen lit up with a new message.
Ava opened the message, which contained the specific address of the hospital where Alexander was staying.
"What is that?" William asked.
Ava replied, "I found Alexander. He's not dead. He's in the hospital, and I'm going to see him tomorrow."
Hearing that Alexander was still alive, William felt a sudden unease. He remembered the day he snatched Alexander's phone, preventing him from calling for help.
Now that Alexander was still alive, what if he told Ava about it? What if Ava found out…
"Going to find him tomorrow?" William frowned slightly. "You're having surgery the day after tomorrow. If you want to see him, can't you wait until after your surgery and when you're recovered?"
"No, I must see him tomorrow. No matter what, I need to see him," Ava said firmly.
Seeing her determination, William didn't dare to say much more. He was worried that if he tried to stop her, it would arouse her suspicion.
Since Alexander was still alive, he would probably reveal what had happened.
But without evidence, as long as he didn't admit it, who could do anything to him?
The more he thought about it, the more he felt he needed to appear generous and let Ava go to see Alexander. That way, he wouldn't seem guilty at all.
