Chapter 446 Things Messed Up

"I was about to go on a trip with my wife."

"You're going on a trip now. Are you sure?"

"Yes, now that my son's marriage affair has been settled, I can finally ease my mind and set off on a journey with my wife. Isn't that quite normal? Let's not dwell on that now. The plane is about to take off."

"Dalton, hold on a moment!" Mia's words had not fully left her mouth before Dalton had ended the call. When she tried to call back, his phone was already switched off.

Mia was filled with indignation and thought, 'Dalton must have done it on purpose! '

He suddenly decided to go on a trip, shared this news with her just before the journey, and then vanished into thin air.

Mia called Ava.

"Hello, Mom," Ava answered quickly.

"I'm asking you, did you marry Dalton's son?"

"Mom, how did you know?"

Upon hearing Ava's words, Mia was instantly furious. "Ava, have you lost your mind? Why did you marry his son? What's wrong with you?"

"Mom, I'm sorry I didn't tell you about this. I will explain it to you. Can you give me some time first?"

Hearing Ava's voice, Mia felt something was off. "What's wrong with you?"

"I'm fine."

However, from Ava's voice, it didn't sound like she was fine.

"Where are you now?" Mia asked.

"I'm at home."

"Wait for me. I'm coming to see you."

After that, Mia hung up the phone and drove to Ava's place.

When Mia arrived at Ava's place, she saw Ava looking pale, with swollen eyes, as if she had been crying for a long time.

She was full of anger and ready to scold Ava harshly. However, seeing her like this, Mia was momentarily stunned, not knowing what to say.

"What's wrong with you?"

Ava didn't want to cry in front of Mia. However, as soon as she saw Mia, she felt like she was seeing her mother, and tears kept flowing uncontrollably. She rushed forward and hugged Mia. "Mom, I messed things up."

Mia stood there with her hands hanging by her sides, stunned.

Ava cried in her embrace, deeply saddened. Intuitively, Mia linked this turmoil to Alexander.
Mia heaved a sigh, gently patting her back. "It is enough. Stop crying. Everything can be resolved."
"It's irreparable now. All messed up, Mom. I'm on the verge of losing my sanity!"
Mia gently pushed her away, enveloped her shoulders, and then closed the door.
Leading Ava to the sofa, she handed her a few tissues. "Dry your tears. Have you forgotten about the child within you? By crying like this, do you wish for your child to inherit melancholy in the future?"
Thinking of her unborn child, Ava wiped away her tears.
Seeing her emotions stabilize, Mia inquired, "Can you now tell me what has happened?"
Ava recounted the whole situation to Mia.
Upon hearing what happened, Mia remained silent, rising to pour a glass of water, swiftly finishing it, and then setting the glass down.
A shiver ran through Ava's body. She felt a tinge of fear toward Mia.
She felt as if she were a daughter who clandestinely married without informing their parents.
Mia turned to face her. "You mentioned you've messed things up, primarily because Alexander expressed his feelings to you, correct?"
Ava clenched her clothes, unsure of what to say.
"If Alexander hadn't approached you or spoken those words to you, would you still be crying like this, lamenting over messing things up?" Mia pressed for an answer.
