Chapter 1284 Chaos and Pain
Bishop's eyes flashed with a hint of confusion. He looked down at the paper that had flown to his feet, bent over to pick it up, and upon seeing the contents, his brow furrowed, and a trace of shock appeared in his eyes. "Where did you get this?"
"You're asking me?" Alexander sneered. "Bishop, did you deliberately mess with me behind my back and send these things to me in Ava's name?"
The more Bishop listened, the more confused he became.
Suddenly, he saw a mailbag on the bedside table.
He picked up the mailbag, saw the sender's name on it, and then looked at the test report in his hand.
"This definitely wasn't sent to you by Ava."
"She didn't send it to me? Then where is she now? I can't reach her on her phone. Tell her I want to see her. I need to talk to her, especially about Sunny. I need to know if he is William's child or mine. I want to do a paternity test myself!"
Regardless of whether the contents of this email were true or false, Alexander was determined to find out the truth himself. He had always assumed that Sunny was William's son. Now, seeing this pregnancy test, he calculated the time. When Ava was pregnant, they hadn't divorced yet, and she didn't know William. Where did the child come from?
If this pregnancy test were real, then Sunny would be two months older than he currently thought.
Alexander had been disappointed too many times, so he didn't dare to hold any hope. Until things were clarified, he didn't dare to think about the outcome.
"No need to do it." Bishop stuffed the test report back into the mailbag and set it aside.
"What did you say?" Alexander looked coldly at Bishop. "Are you telling me how to do things?"
"No, I'm telling you the facts. You don't need to do a paternity test. Sunny is indeed your son, not William's child."
"What did you say?" Alexander gritted his teeth and said word by word, "Say it again?"
"It would be the same even if I said it ten times. Alexander, this email wasn't sent by me or Ava. But one thing is true: you and Sunny are indeed biological father and son."
Alexander lay on the hospital bed, his expression twisted into a knot.
His brows were deeply furrowed, sweat beaded on his forehead, and his lips trembled. Emotions of disbelief and anger intertwined.
The white walls around him felt like a prison, reflecting his consciousness back at him. "Are you telling the truth?"
Bishop nodded. "It's true. Sunny is your biological son. Otherwise, why would William allow Ava to leave him with Sunny? And Sunny still has the last name Anderson. Moreover, don't you know Ava? How could she have had an affair with another man while she was with you? You might be capable of such a thing, but she isn't."
"Shut up!" Alexander suddenly went berserk and threw a pillow at him.
Alexander's hands gripped the bed sheets tightly, his nails digging into the fabric. The emotions surging from his heart seemed uncontrollable. A deep growl emanated from his throat, as if he wanted to vent his inner anger and pain, but his throat was too choked with emotion to make a sound.
His once deep eyes were now filled with tears. This sudden truth had destroyed everything, turning his world upside down.
"You knew about this, and William knew too?" Alexander asked hoarsely.
Bishop nodded. "Yes."
"She... Ava..." A tidal wave of anger surged through Alexander's mind. He tried to speak, but his voice was just a hoarse whisper, unable to express the chaos and pain inside him.
Alexander felt a strong sense of anger towards this long-hidden secret, towards the truth that had kept him in the dark, and towards himself for not realizing any of it.
It was as if a sharp knife was alternately stabbing his anger and slicing through his pain. Darkness enveloped him, inescapable and unavoidable.
