Chapter 678 Taking You to Find Him

"Where did you come from?" Ava asked, "I know you came with Alexander. Where is he now?"

William frowned, growing impatient. Her concern for Alexander's well-being made him uncomfortable.

"Ava, it's not safe here. We'll talk about it once we're home. Let's go."

He grabbed her wrist.

"I'm not leaving!" Ava shook off his hand forcefully. "If I don't see Alexander today, I'm not going anywhere. If you don't tell me, I'll go find him myself!"

"Why?" William finally couldn't hold back and roared, "I'm your husband. I risked my life to save you, and now all you care about is Alexander. You know it's dangerous here and we could both get into trouble at any moment. Now you're still worried about him, aren't you afraid something will happen to me?"

"I've already chosen you. What more do you want?" Ava said angrily.

"William, between the two of you, I had to choose one, and I chose you. Now you won't even let me care about Alexander? You're being too heartless! If you're afraid of danger, then leave. I'll find Alexander myself!"

Ava couldn't help but feel disappointed in William. She was heartbroken and ready to leave.

William hugged her tightly from behind. "What are you doing? Let go of me!" Ava shouted.

She struggled desperately as he pleaded in her ear, "I'm sorry!"

William closed his eyes tightly, trembling all over. "I am sorry. I shouldn't have said those things. I was just too worried about your safety and wanted to get you home as soon as possible."

Ava closed her eyes in pain, took a deep breath, then slowly opened her eyes and said, "I have to find him. If I don't see him, I won't go back. I don't believe he made it back safely. I don't believe it! William, even if you're hiding it from me now, I'll eventually find out what happened to him. When that time comes, I won't forgive you because you lied to me."

William gritted his teeth, anger surging through him. He took a deep breath, suppressing his rage, and slowly said, "Ava, it's my fault."

He forcefully turned her around, "I can tell you the truth. I can also take you to find him, but I hope you're prepared."

William's words made Ava's heart skip a beat. She grabbed his shirt, asking eagerly, "Where is he? How is he?"

Seeing how much Ava cared, William knew she wouldn't give up until she saw Alexander today.

That's fine, Alexander must be dead by now. Seeing him would only cause Ava pain. If he insisted on lying to her, saying Alexander had made it back, she would eventually find out he was dead. Then she would blame him for deceiving her.

It was better to tell her the truth now and take her to find Alexander. After all, she would only see Alexander's corpse.

Moreover, it was the kidnapper who killed Alexander. He shot him in the chest, and it wasn't William's fault.

"I'll take you to him."

William grabbed Ava's wrist and led her away.

William drove Ava to the place where Alexander had been injured.

She cried all the way there... As soon as the car pulled over, she rushed towards the dilapidated house.
