Chapter 357 Clarity

Upon hearing the news, Mia was plunged into a profound silence. Her initial instinct was to conclude that Alexander stood no chance. Ava had been burning the midnight oil, tirelessly investigating the issues plaguing Wisdom Future Group. Yet, her efforts bore no connection to Alexander, not even the slightest. Ava's actions were all for William.

A wry smile, tinged with helplessness and irony, slowly spread across Mia's face. The misunderstanding wasn't solely Alexander's; Mia herself had been mistaken. She had genuinely believed that Ava's actions were driven by her concern for Alexander. The reality, however, was far from her assumptions.

It appeared that Ava was living with a clarity that Mia had lacked in her youth. Despite Ava's seemingly fragile exterior, her mind was sharp and focused, always aware of her priorities.

"Mia, what's wrong?" Ava's voice broke through Mia's reverie, her confusion evident as she noticed Mia's sudden smile.

"It's nothing," Mia replied, lifting her gaze to meet Ava's. "Dalton used his son to threaten you, and you really accepted his threat because you care about his son, right?"

"William is my good friend," Ava explained, her voice steady. "I can't stand by and watch him suffer. If I can help him, I will. But if you're uncomfortable with it, it's okay. I'll find another way."

"There's no need," Mia said. "Tell him I will meet him."

Ava's face lit up with delight. "Really? Mia, are you sure you're willing to meet him?"

Mia nodded. "Tell him."

"But..." Ava's smile faded as quickly as it had appeared. "I don't want to force you. If you're reluctant, you don't have to meet him."

"It's fine," Mia reassured her, her voice calm. "I can simply establish a business acquaintance. It won't harm me."

"Then why did you reject me at first?" Ava's confusion was palpable. She couldn't comprehend why Mia, who had initially rejected her proposal so decisively, was now agreeing so readily. Mia's sudden change of heart was beyond Ava's understanding.

"I didn't think much of it at first. But now, after giving it some thought, I realize it's beneficial for me. So, I changed my mind."

With Mia's explanation, Ava chose not to press further. She nodded in acceptance. "Okay, I'll let him know. Thank you."
