Chapter 1011 Conflicted
Ava had handed Sunny over to William, who was definitely on the plane by now.
She couldn't bring herself to think badly of William. In her eyes, he had always been good to her, doing everything for her. But in that video, he seemed like a completely different person—so cruel.
Ava was terrified. With Sunny now in his care, she didn't dare to provoke him.
She thought, 'If I had known earlier, I would never have let William take Sunny home. Why didn't Alexander tell me sooner? He clearly had evidence. If he had told me from the start, things would be different now. But there's no point in dwelling on it now.'
Ava tried hard to believe that William wouldn't harm Sunny. But she still didn't dare to provoke him.
She returned to Bishop's ward, looking worried and troubled.
Bishop asked, "What's wrong?"
Ava sighed, "Something happened, but I don't even know where to start."
Bishop said, "Just say whatever comes to mind. I'm lying here with nothing else to do. If something's bothering you, you can tell me. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
"Bishop, I just found out something." Ava explained everything to him.
After listening, Bishop said, "Seems like William is pretty cunning."
Ava asked, "You think he got tipped off and that's why he ran?"
Bishop smiled faintly. "I don't know, but his timing was too perfect."
Ava continued, "If that's the case, who tipped him off? Does he really have someone planted with Alexander?"
"Could be," Bishop said. "Mr. Bennett seems like a smart guy, always planning ahead. He managed to break into Alexander's place back then. What else couldn't he do?"
Ava closed her eyes in pain and said, "I actually let him take Sunny. If I had known, I would have kept Sunny here."
Bishop said, "Seems like he took Sunny as a hostage."
"No," Ava immediately said upon hearing the word "hostage." "William isn't like that. He would never harm Sunny."
Even though she was worried, she didn't want to think that way.
Over the past year, she had seen William's care for her and his love for Sunny.
Even though he did those things to Alexander, it was because he was desperate to find her.
If William really took Sunny as a hostage, Ava felt her whole worldview would collapse. She wouldn't know what to trust anymore. So she tried not to think that way.
Seeing her reaction, Bishop seemed to guess what she was thinking. He then asked, "If that's the case, why do you regret giving Sunny to him?"
Ava thought for a moment and answered, "I just didn't expect William to have that side, so I'm a bit scared. I don't dare to call him now. Although I believe he won't harm Sunny..."
Ava didn't know how to explain. She was very conflicted inside, a feeling that couldn't be described in words.
