Chapter 453 I Know Him

"Why are you silent?" Seeing Ava's silence, Alexander held her shoulder. "I have laid bare all my thoughts to you, yet you have never revealed yours to me. So, tell me now, what exactly are you thinking?"

"Enough." Ava pushed him away forcefully. "You are truly exasperating. Take care of your Isabella and don't come to disturb me."

Ava turned and ran.

"Ava." Alexander was about to catch up when a weak voice suddenly came from the ward. "Alexander, where are you?"

Alexander sighed, casting a glance towards the ward, then gazing in the direction Ava had departed.
It appeared that Ava truly did not wish to see him.

Forget it. Let her calm down for a while. He worried that if he insisted on getting close to her immediately, she would only run further away.

Alexander walked into the ward and sat by the bed. "Isabella."

"Alexander, what's that?" Isabella saw a large, beautiful gift box not far away.

Alexander shifted the topic. "Isabella, I have good tidings to share with you. A suitable heart has been found."

"What did you say?" Isabella's eyes lit up. "Really?"

Alexander nodded. "Yes, as long as his family agrees, we can proceed with the surgery immediately."

"We still need his family's consent? What if they disagree?" Isabella worried.

"No matter what it takes, I will make sure his family agrees." After all, the man couldn't be saved and could only rely on machines to live for the rest of his life, like a human vegetable.

"Alexander." Isabella was truly happy. She was really afraid she would die, and felt her body was getting worse.

It seemed that Eason did not deceive her. However, Why was the consent of family members still necessary? Truly peculiar.

Isabella was too excited to ignoring what was actually in the box.

Ava was on the phone with Vicky in the corridor. "Have you not heard from William yet?"

"I am unaware of his whereabouts. He does not answer my calls. I have inquired at his workplace, but he is not there. I am filled with apprehension," Vicky expressed over the phone.

"What should we do? What if something happens to him?"

"Ava, don't worry. William will be fine. He's already an adult and can take care of himself. Maybe he just needs some time to calm down."

"Okay, Vicky. If you hear anything, please let me know immediately, okay?"

"Don't worry. I'll tell you as soon as I hear anything."

After the call ended, Ava tucked her phone into her pocket. Passing by a hospital room, she overheard voices inside. "Has the patient's family still not been located?"
"He has no identification on him, and his face is severely injured, making recognition difficult. The authorities are still searching."

"Although his organs can save others, he is still very pitiful. I hope his family can be found soon to confirm his identity."

The medical staff stood by the bedside, obstructing Ava's line of sight, until they emerged to find Ava standing outside the ward.

"Miss, is there something you need?"

"Nothing. Can I go in and see him? I heard you say his family hasn't been found. I feel sorry for him. Can I stay with him for a while?"

The doctor glanced into the ward and nodded. "Sure."

'This young lady is really kind,' The medical staff thought.

"Thank you." Ava walked into the ward and saw a man lying on the bed, his face severely injured, wearing an oxygen mask, relying on machines to sustain his life.

It was really pitiful, and she didn't know who could have hurt him like this. She hoped they could catch the culprit soon.

Ava harbored a sense of compassion for the suffering of innocent souls. Witnessing their agony was a bitter pill for her to swallow.
Bowing down, she adjusted the blanket draped over him.

As she got closer, Ava suddenly noticed a black mole on his left ear.

Seeing this mole, she shuddered, instantly thinking of something.

She scrutinized the man's face carefully, his injuries grave enough to obscure his features.
Immediately, she uncovered the blanket covering him, examined his hands, and noticed the scar on his knuckles of the right hand.
William had clashed with Alexander yesterday, bearing wounds on his hands identical to these.
Ava was utterly taken aback.

"William, is it you? It is you, right?"

"Miss, what are you doing?" The nurse saw the situation in the ward and hurried in.

Ava's emotions ran unusually high. "William, wake up.. How have you transformed into this form!"

Upon witnessing this, the nurse inquired, "Miss, do you know him?"

"I do. His name is William!"
