Chapter 1223 Furious

Hailey nodded to Ava as a gesture of politeness, then said to Mandy, "Mom, let's go back."

"What's the rush? It's already noon, and we're just in time for lunch. This restaurant is quite good," Mandy looked at Ava, "After all, you are my grandson's ex-wife, and this child is my great-grandson."

Ava felt a bit awkward. If she said Sunny wasn't William's child, it would reveal that the child was Alexander's.

"Is the manager here?" Mandy turned to look around.

At this moment, a person in a black uniform ran over, "Hello."

"Don't you have any sense? Can't you see there are several of us here? Is there a private room available that suits our group?"

The manager apologized with a smile, "I'm sorry, there are tables available in the main hall, but all the private rooms are booked."

"So what if they're booked? Get one ready for me."

Mandy was insistent.

"But the private rooms are already reserved," the manager was in a difficult position, as he couldn't just ask the reserved guests to leave.

"Are you saying it's not possible?" Mandy looked him up and down, then immediately turned to the bodyguard behind her and said, "Call the fire department and have them check the fire safety here. I have a feeling this restaurant has fire safety issues."

Mandy was from the elite class, having enjoyed privileges all her life, and she wouldn't take no for an answer.

The manager's face changed dramatically. He realized he had offended someone significant, someone who could easily call the fire department.

This woman looked like someone not to be messed with, likely a person of high status.

"Madam, let's talk this over. I will find a way to solve the problem."

"Is there a private room now?" Mandy asked coldly.

"Yes, give me a few minutes, and I'll get a private room ready for you. Please wait a moment."

The manager immediately went to handle the private room issue.

Mandy's expression quickly changed to a smile, completely different from her earlier domineering demeanor, "That's better. We can have lunch together now."

Mandy was particularly assertive, making decisions without asking anyone.

Bishop was somewhat displeased and was about to say something when Ava grabbed his wrist and gave him a look.

Then Ava said, "Of course, no problem. I'll treat you to lunch. After all, you are William's family. Although William and I are divorced, we are still friends."

"Of course," Mandy said, "The child in your arms is my great-grandson."

Within a few minutes, the manager came running back and said, "Please follow me, I have prepared a large private room for you, and I will personally serve you today."

"That's more like it, lead the way," Mandy said arrogantly, showing no regard for anyone.

The manager led them to the private room.

After they ordered, the manager left with the menu.

The atmosphere in the private room was somewhat tense.

"What is my great-grandson's name?" Mandy asked.

Ava said, "His name is Sunny."

"Sunny Bennett," Mandy said, "That's a nice name."

Ava corrected, "Sorry, his name is Sunny Anderson, he has my last name, but the name was chosen by William."

"What?" Mandy's face turned cold. She only heard the first part and immediately frowned, "He has your last name? This is a Bennett family child, why does he have your last name?"

Mandy was furious and turned to scold her daughter, "What is William doing? Letting his own son have someone else's last name!"

"I'm not someone else, I'm the child's mother. This is my child, what's wrong with him having my last name?" Ava was displeased with this remark.

Who said a child must have the father's last name?

Moreover, the child's father wasn't even William, and he didn't have the last name Mitchell, so why should he have the last name Bennett?

"William is still the child's father. You are divorced, why does the child stay with you?" Mandy was relentless.

Ava retorted, "This is between William and me."

"William is my grandson, and this is my great-grandson, so it is my business too."

Ava's attitude made Mandy very angry.

Did Ava know who she was? How dare she speak to her like that.

"Mom, stop it," Hailey gently tugged at Mandy's sleeve, "This is between William and Ava, you shouldn't interfere."

Mandy shook off Hailey's hand, "What's wrong with you? As William's biological mother, you don't care about your own son's affairs? Are you out of your mind?"

"I..."

Hailey felt bitter but couldn't say anything. William wasn't her biological son either.

She had been helping Dalton cover this up. If the Smith family found out William's true identity, they wouldn't let it go. After raising someone else's child for so many years, Mandy would definitely be furious.
