Chapter 654 Weak and Helpless

The other kidnappers huddled together in fear, looking at the man with terror. "Our leader is dead, please spare us! We're just small fries, only following his orders. Please!"

"So, you're saying you're innocent?" The man in black stepped forward.

"Don't come any closer." The group were scared out of their wits.

Although he was alone, he held a gun, appearing skilled. His every move was like that of a terrifying demon, not human at all.

"Weren't you all very fierce just now? Like that woman, I'm also alone. Why are you so afraid of me?"

The man in black suddenly realized something. "Oh, it's because I have a gun, isn't it? That's why you're afraid of me."

They were afraid of the gun.

The man put the gun away, tucking it into his waistband. He spread his arms wide. "Now that it's gone, are you still afraid?"

Ava widened her eyes, completely bewildered. 'Is he insane? He has put the gun away, so how could they still be afraid of him? He is alone and outnumbered; how could he deal with them?'

She truly believed this man was a lunatic. From his actions and words, she felt he was not mentally sound.

Ava cautiously got up from the ground, trying to escape. Suddenly, the man spoke, "Lady, if you dare step out that door, I'll shoot you in the back of your head."

Even though the man had his back to her, he still sensed Ava's attempt to flee, as if he had eyes in the back of his head.

Ava didn't dare risk the life of her unborn child, so she could only obediently stay in place.

The kidnappers were petrified by this man and didn't dare move for a moment. But seeing him put the gun away, they exchanged glances.

After all, they had been doing bad things together for a long time , so they still had a bit of understanding. Suddenly, they stood up from the ground and rushed at the man.

Seeing the danger, Ava shouted, "Watch out!"

It was an instinctive warning. She didn't know who the man was, but she knew that if she fell into the hands of these kidnappers, she would be better to be dead than alive. One was the unknown, the other was the terrifying certainty. If she had to choose, she would rather choose the unknown.

The man in black gave an almost undetectable smile. He calmly watched the men rushing at him.

What happened next left Ava stunned.

Facing the attack of six men, the man in black remained calm. He flipped one over his shoulder and then kicked another. In less than half a second, he had knocked them all to the ground.

Without a gun, he could still easily subdue them.

His skills showed years of training, clearly not that of an ordinary person.

The kidnappers writhed on the ground in pain. The man walked over to the nearest one, stepped on his hand, and then grabbed his hair, lifting him up.

With a knife in his hand, he stabbed the kidnapper in the face, then pulled it out, blood splattering everywhere.

Piercing screams echoed, haunting and unrelenting.

For Ava, the scene was too bloody. She was so terrified that she covered her eyes, not daring to look.

She heard several gunshots, followed by an eerie silence. The men's screams all disappeared.

Slowly, Ava opened her eyes to a scene of bodies strewn across the ground,a strong smell of blood assaulting her senses. Her stomach churned violently, and she turned her head to vomit.
