Chapter 1124 Already Numb

When will Alexander finally understand that she no longer cares?

She truly doesn't care, doesn't feel jealous, and has no desire to compete with Madison.

For her, it's over between her and Alexander. If Alexander wants to be with another woman, so be it, as long as he doesn't bother her.

"Ava, no matter what, she was indeed wrong just now. She shouldn't have said those things to you."

"She already said it, so what can be done? Instead of apologizing to me, you should tell her not to provoke me next time. I won't be polite."

"Ava, Madison probably didn't mean it that way. Maybe you misunderstood."

Ava wasn't angry at first, but hearing Alexander say this made her angry. She laughed, "Alexander, you really are infatuated."

Alexander vaguely felt that Ava's mention of infatuation wasn't about him.

"Your taste is remarkably consistent. First Isabella, now Madison. Each one appears so weak in front of you, but behind your back, they show a different face. No wonder we got divorced; I'm not your type at all."

"Ava, don't say that. Don't you know who I truly love?"

"Stop it," Ava interrupted him. "If you really loved me, you wouldn't be entangled with so many women. I don't believe you. Even if there wasn't Madison today, there would be another woman. You'll never lack women around you."

Ava turned to leave.

"And what about you?" Alexander shouted at her back. "You won't lack men around you either. You're already pregnant with William's child."

Ava's nails almost dug into her palms. She turned around and smiled lightly, "Yes, you don't lack women, and I don't lack men. We're really not suited for each other. It's for the best."

Seeing the sarcastic smile in her eyes, Alexander suddenly panicked. He hurriedly stepped forward, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."

Ava shook off his hand, "It doesn't matter what you say. I'm here for Grandma, not for you. I don't care what you think, and I don't care how close you are with Madison. Just don't let Grandma see it. Unless one day Grandma mistakes Madison for me, then do as you please."

Ava was about to go inside, but Alexander blocked her, "Ava."

He wanted to say something more.

"Don't say anything else. I'm going in. Let's leave it at that. I don't want to argue with you. I'm really tired."

Every time, he would apologize after doing something wrong or saying something hurtful.

What good is an apology? The damage is already done.

Ava was numb. She walked into the villa.

Alexander stood by the stone sculpture, staring at Ava's gradually disappearing figure, his vision slowly blurring.

When it was time for dinner, Scarlett arranged the seating. She had Alexander and Ava sit together, and Madison and Emily sit together.

Ava held Sunny in her arms, gently wiping the drool from his mouth with a tissue.

"Ava, let me hold Sunny. You eat," Alexander reached out his hand.

Ava said, "It's okay, I'll hold him."

"What's wrong with you two?" Scarlett said. "Why make it so complicated? Butler, take Sunny and look after him."

"Yes, ma'am." The butler came to Ava's side, "Mrs. Mitchell, let me take Sunny. I'll look after him while you and Mr. Mitchell eat."

Hearing the title "Mrs. Mitchell," Madison almost had a heart attack.

Even though she knew it wasn't real, it was still very jarring.
