Chapter 322 She Didn't Sleep All Night

Ava was still busy, and Mia brought her a new notebook.

Ava had already filled it with notes. She had gone through half of the box of materials, with the other half left. She didn't count them; she just picked up one sheet after another to read.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

Ava continued to concentrate on taking notes until she heard a notification sound on her phone.

She furrowed her brows, reached out to pick up her phone, glanced at it, and saw that Alexander had sent her a message.

Alexander: [Are you sleeping?]

Alexander: [??]

Ava picked up her phone and replied.

Ava: [I haven't slept yet.]

But before she could click send, she suddenly thought of something.

If she told him that she wasn't sleeping yet, he would ask her what she was doing, and then she would have to answer, which would waste time.

She didn't want to chat with Alexander now.

She was no longer like before when she would get extremely excited every time Alexander contacted her.

She needed to use her time wisely to finish reading these materials.

So, she deleted everything she had just written and typed again.

Ava: [I'm very tired and going to sleep. Goodnight.]

After sending the message, she put her phone on silent mode, placed it aside, and continued to busy herself.

Alexander sat on the bed, staring blankly at the phone screen.

Mia said Ava was busy, but why did Ava tell him she was going to sleep?

Alexander sent another text to Mia.

Alexander: [Mom, did Ava actually go to sleep?]

However, Mia didn't respond for a long time after he sent this text.

According to what Mia said earlier, he guessed that Ava was probably staying with Mia for the night, and they were probably both asleep now.

Alexander thought about calling Ava, but then he thought it might disturb her.

He didn't know what was happening to him, but he suddenly felt restless and insecure, afraid of being rejected by her.

He had never experienced this kind of feeling before.

Alexander frowned, threw his phone to the side, and lay on the bed, closing his eyes like a sulking child.

But after a while, he opened his eyes again, picked up the phone humbly, and carefully sent one word to Ava.

Alexander: [Goodnight.]

The next day.

Mia was woken up by the alarm clock. She opened her eyes, turned off the alarm, and got out of bed, feeling a bit emotional, like a teenage girl.

After washing up in the bathroom, she changed her clothes and walked into Ava's room.

She opened the door, only to find the room empty. The bed was neatly made, just like last night.
She was suspicious and went to the home office, only to see Ava still busy. A thick box of documents was almost finished being reviewed by Ava.

Mia was shocked.

Mia was about to go in and ask Ava if she hadn't slept all night, but she suddenly remembered something. She secretly took out her phone and took a picture of Ava's haggard and busy look and sent it to Alexander.

Mia: [Your ex-wife has been busy all night and hasn't slept. She looks exhausted, and it's really heart-wrenching. I tried to persuade her, but it didn't work.]

Mia sat on the sofa, silently counting down. "Three, two, one."

Her phone vibrated like crazy.

Mia didn't rush. She picked up an apple from the table, took a bite, swallowed it, and then slowly answered the call, speaking like a robot, "Hello, how can I assist you?"

The person on the other end of the phone obviously hesitated for a moment. It took several seconds for him to remember what he wanted to do.
