Chapter 874 His Heart Was Already Shattered

She really hammered home the "two months," like she was throwing shade. Back when he was off on that business trip for two months, he was with Isabella the whole time, and she only found out later.

Every time she got pissed at Alexander, all those times he hurt her came flooding back.

Each moment was crystal clear.

"I will," Alexander said. "I'm planning to stick around with her for a month. No matter how long, we'll always be together, never apart for life."

Alexander knew Ava was throwing shade, so he threw it right back.

What he owed Ava, he paid back during that kidnapping.

Ava picked William, not caring if he lived or died. He felt like his soul had already died back then.

He paid Ava back with his life, and she got her revenge for his past screw-ups.

Madison felt a rush of happiness. She didn't know if Alexander was being real, but a month was enough time for her to have some fun. She had thought he was just gonna meet Ava for a bit and then bounce.

William asked, "Mr. Mitchell, got a reservation here? This place is tough to book."

Alexander said, "Nah, Madison and I are heading to another spot."

William raised an eyebrow and grinned, "Why not join us? We got four seats. It's been a while; let's catch up."

Alexander narrowed his eyes, tension all over his face, "Got your memory back?"

William smiled, "The treatment here worked pretty well. I remembered some stuff, including your deeds."

Alexander smirked, "Oh yeah? That's good. I remember your deeds too."

William's smile froze, worried Alexander might bring up that incident.

But even if he did, so what? He'd deny it all, and Ava wouldn't believe Alexander.

Ava had always been hung up on Alexander, but now that he was off with someone else, she must be feeling pretty crushed. Being let down sucks.

"Alexander, are we leaving?" Madison didn't want to stick around; the vibe was off, and she worried Alexander would get hurt more.

Only she knew how much pain Alexander was in, hiding it behind a calm face. But his heart was already shattered.

Nobody could imagine how broken Alexander was right now.

Madison felt deep sympathy for him and wanted to take him back to comfort him.

Alexander's big hand was almost crushing her waist, like he was venting his frustration.

Madison endured the intense pain and forced a smile.

She had to let him vent; otherwise, he'd break down. No matter how much it hurt, she had to endure it.

Alexander was in so much pain that he didn't even realize he was hurting Madison.

Just then, a waiter came over.

"Mr. Mitchell, there's an empty table. Want to take it?"

Alexander, holding Madison, said, "Looks like the four of us can't sit together. Madison and I will head there; we don't want to interrupt your meal."

With that, Alexander and Madison left.

Their table wasn't far from William and Ava's.

Ava's mind was blank, like she just woke up from a bad dream.

It wasn't until Alexander and Madison left that William gently said, "Ava, sit down. We haven't finished our lunch."

Ava snapped back to reality, nodded blankly, and finally followed William back to their seats.

When she looked up, she could see Alexander and Madison's table.
