Chapter 451 She was Saved
Ava took advantage of Alexander's loosened grip and forcefully pushed him away. "Regardless of whether I grant you time or not, there is no possibility between us anymore. What have you taken me for? When you wish to divorce, you divorce me and I must depart. When you want remarriage, I must remarry you. Am I to sacrifice everything for you?"
Alexander exclaimed angrily, "Sacrifice everything? Are you referring to William? Is he your everything?"
Ava was already too exhausted to argue with him.
After saving Isabella, the doctor walked out of the ward. "Alexander, Isabella may only have a few days left. There have been no updates from the organ allocation center, and hope is dim. We will strive to alleviate her suffering as much as possible."
Alexander's gaze appeared vacant and hollow, as if lost in thought.
Ava stood by, unable to say anything. Neither sarcastic nor comforting words could come out of her mouth.
Whether Isabella lived or died, Ava felt nothing.
She did not even feel the pleasure of revenge.
"I understand." Alexander nodded, his voice laden with gravity. "Let's try to minimize her suffering."
"Alexander." Mason hurried over, holding a large box in his hands. "This is the wedding dress you ordered. Do you want to show it to Isabella?"
Alexander furrowed his brow and turned to look at Ava, who was looking at him with a mocking gaze, a gaze that pierced Alexander's heart.
"Let's put it in the ward for now. Isabella is still unconscious. I will show it to her when she wakes up."
Mason nodded, feeling strange seeing Ava there. However, he didn't dare to ask or say anything.
"Ava." Alexander approached. "For the sake of Isabella's imminent death, can you stop arguing with her, okay?"
"I cannot be bothered to bicker with her," Ava lifted her head and declared icily, "This is a matter between you two."
Witnessing her indifferent gaze, Alexander's heart clenched in spasms. Was she truly devoid of any concern now?
Jealousy, envy, all evaporated.
"Her physical condition is no longer able to support a wedding. She will depart this life wearing this bridal gown. It is the only thing I can do for her. Please, do not be angry with me, okay?"
Ava sighed, "Alexander, why don't you understand? I don't care anymore. Even if you marry and register with Isabella now, I won't mind."
"But I do care." Alexander held her hand and pressed it against his heart. "Ava, I care a lot. What do you want me to do for you to forgive me?"
Ava felt a stinging sensation in her nose and fought back tears. "Please stop."
In such a brief span of time, so many events unfolded. With a multitude of incredible revelations bombarding her mind, she found herself unable to make a decision at that moment, evading instinctively.
Just then, Isabella's attending physician hurried over. "Alexander, we found a matching heart."
Alexander tightly held Ava's hand, hesitated slightly, then turned his head, his eyes shocked. "Really?"
The doctor nodded. "The hospital admitted a severely injured patient whose brain suffered a strong impact, falling into a deep coma. It's difficult to save him now. However, his heart is still beating."
Alexander let go of Ava's hand and immediately asked, "What's next?"
Upon seeing Alexander's reaction, a chill suddenly struck Ava.
This was his true self.
As soon as he heard that Isabella had a chance, he became so agitated.
Every time something involving Isabella happened, he would just let go of her hand immediately.
