Chapter 1078 I Want to Pursue You
"Thank you so much for your hard work," Ava said, feeling a bit embarrassed. "You've been helping me all day. Let me treat you to dinner. What would you like to eat tonight? I'll take you to a nice restaurant."
Eason thought for a moment and said, "I saw a restaurant nearby that looks pretty good. Let's give it a try."
Ava replied, "Sure, let's go. Dinner's on me."
Then, Ava, holding Sunny, went to the restaurant with Eason. Despite his slim appearance, Eason had quite an appetite.
"Ava, since you're divorced from William, does that mean I can pursue you?" Eason's sudden question made Ava's expression change.
"How old are you? Is you old enough to persue me?" she asked.
"I'm nineteen, a PhD student. Why can't I pursue you?"
"Eason, stop joking. I've been divorced twice. Why would a kid like you want to pursue me?"
"I'm not a kid," Eason said unhappily. "Ava, I'm an adult. We're only three years apart. I think I'm pretty good."
He lowered his head, looking somewhat aggrieved.
Ava smiled helplessly. "Stop it. focus on your meal and let's head back early. It's getting dark."
Even if she hadn't just gotten divorced, it would still be impossible between her and Eason. She saw him as a younger brother.
Hearing that, Eason didn't say anything more and focused on his meal.
After dinner, they walked back. Eason helped carry Sunny on the way to Ava's apartment.
"Sunny is quite well-behaved."
Ava said, "Yes, he's very well-behaved now. But he used to cry a lot when he was just born."
"That must have been hard for you."
Hearing Eason's words, Ava thought of William, who had always helped her take care of Sunny, so it hadn't been too hard for her.
"Not really."
Before they knew it, they had arrived at the apartment building.
Eason said, "Ava, you go on up. I'll head out now."
Ava nodded. "Be careful on your way home. Make sure to text me when you get there."
"Okay, Ava." Eason walked a few steps, then turned back and said, "Ava, I'm serious. Can I pursue you? You're already divorced. Wouldn't it be nice to have a younger guy chasing after you?"
Ava saw a hint of seriousness in Eason's eyes.
Finally, she said, "Eason, I just got divorced. Can you give me some time to rest? I really don't want to date right now. I just want to live a good life with Sunny."
Eason lowered his eyes, a trace of disappointment flashing through them. He nodded. "Alright, Ava. Take your time. Anyway, I'm still young."
Ava was amused by his words. "If you meet another girl you like, go after her."
"No, Ava. I'll wait until you're ready. If you're not ready, I'll wait."
"Alright, Eason, go home. Be careful on your way."
Eason said goodbye and turned to leave.
Ava carried Sunny upstairs. After returning to the apartment, she placed Sunny on the bed and sighed softly. "Sunny, don't worry. I just want to live with you for now. If I ever do look for a husband again, I'll find someone who respects me, doesn't deceive me, and is faithful. Otherwise, we can rely on each other. I don't necessarily need a man."
