Chapter 470 Unknown Secrets

Upon witnessing Ava's crestfallen expression, Brandon awkwardly yet politely smiled. "Forgive me, have I upset you by mentioning him?"

Ava said, "I'm not upset. It's just that I'm divorced from him. I don't want to talk too much about him."

Ava was seized by a sudden bout of chest tightness. She rarely talked about Alexander privately with others, nor did she speak ill of him. Yet, he misunderstood her, thinking she was slandering him everywhere, even though she had never done so. Even now, she didn't want to do that.

Brandon nodded. "Alright. Let's not mention him. Let's talk about you. Do you have any siblings?"

Ava shook her head. "I'm an only child, no siblings."

"I see. Your parents must have doted on you, right?"

Mentioning her parents made Ava feel sad. "Yes, unfortunately, they passed away early."

If her parents hadn't passed away, Alexander and her would never have crossed paths. Perhaps she wouldn't have to undergo so much sadness.

"How did they pass away?" Brandon asked.

Ava briefly recounted the events to Brandon.

After listening, Brandon fell silent for a moment. "I see. You've been through a lot."

Ava smiled helplessly. "Fortunately, someone adopted me, allowing me to live a good life and receive a good education. So, I still hold a grateful heart."

Brandon nodded. "Yes, your parents would be assured if they knew that you grew up safely."

Ava noticed Brandon didn't mention the pregnancy. She guessed that Vicky probably hadn't told him.

Later, they chatted for a while about her past experiences, such as how she met William.

When the dishes were served, they started eating dinner.

Despite the delicious food, Ava had little appetite. But for the sake of her child, she forced herself to swallow the food to maintain her nutrition.

Seeing Ava struggling to eat, Brandon asked, "What's wrong? Does the food not agree with you?"

Ava shook her head. "No, it's delicious. It's just that thinking of William makes me sad. I don't have much appetite for anything, but I'll eat a little more. I'll take care of myself."

Brandon smiled gently. "That's right. No matter what happens, you must take care of yourself first. Only when you're healthy can you take care of others and think about more things."

"Eat these fried chicken wings." Brandon put some chicken wings into Ava's bowl.

Ava stared at the food in her bowl. Although it smelled delicious, it was a bit greasy for her. However, since Brandon had put it in her bowl, she felt obliged to eat it and forced herself to take a few bites.

Suddenly, she felt a wave of nausea washing over her, suppressing the discomfort as she set down her chopsticks. "Excuse me for a moment. I need to use the restroom."
Brandon nodded silently, watching as Ava excused herself and made her way to the private room.

After a while, Brandon's phone in his pocket rang.

He took out his phone and answered, "Hello."

"Brandon, we've found the information about Ava. Do you want to see it now?"

Brandon said, "Send it to my email."

Soon, Brandon's inbox received an email. He opened to go through Ava's information.
Her birth, her parents, and her marriage were all revealed within.

The information matched what Ava had told him.

However, under the section about Ava's parents, there was an unknown secret.
