Chapter 632 Face-to-Face Combat

"William, you're as despicable as your father. You both make me sick," Mia said coldly.

She was provoking William, trying to get him to show his true nature.

William narrowed his eyes slightly and clenched his fist. "I'm sorry, but I've even forgotten my father. I don't remember what kind of person he is. But if you insist on saying I'm as despicable as he is, there's nothing I can do about it. It's a pity, really. This is our first meeting, and you've already made such a judgment about me. It makes me wonder if you are being too impulsive, or if there are unresolved feelings towards my father that you are now projecting onto me, finding fault with me at every turn."

William smiled politely and continued, "Would you like to tell me about it? You and my father were friends for many years. Did something happen between you two? I see hatred in your eyes."

Mia had to admit, William was not simple. She even doubted whether he had really lost his memory. If he hadn't, then pretending to have amnesia made his actions very frightening.

If his memory loss was genuine yet he exhibited such cunning and astuteness, the situation grew even more unnerving.

"You despicable boy, you're really something. No wonder my son couldn't compete with you."

William shook his head, saying, "Well, I can only say sorry. I'm not that great. But really, I didn't expect your son to come running to you with complaints so soon. It's like he's back in elementary school, losing a fight and then running home to get his parents to stand up for him."

"I'm not here to stand up for Alex," Mia said. "I'm here for Ava, and honestly, I came here to meet you because I've heard so much about you. As for Alexander losing or feeling wronged, I have to admit that's his own fault. But don't get too ahead of yourself. There are tons of folks out there who start out strong but crash hard later on, especially the despicable ones. They rely on sneaky moves, but when it comes to a direct combat, they lose everything."

"Mrs. Michelle." William said calmly, "Thanks for the compliment of calling me despicable. I'll take that as a badge of honor. Your words hit home and I’ll take them to heart. But let me remind you that it's often the despicable ones who survive in this world. Those who fight head-on die the fastest. If you don't believe me, ask Ava if she still wants to see your son. Even if I framed your son, she's still on my side."

Seeing William's attitude, Mia was furious. She wanted to throw her wine in his face but held back. She wasn't here to make things worse.

William was too difficult to deal with.

At that moment, Ava returned. She sensed a tense atmosphere in the dining room. After sitting down, she glanced at the two of them. "What were you talking about?"

As soon as she entered, they stopped talking.

William smiled gently. "Nothing much. Mrs. Michelle was just telling me to treat you well, or else she won't forgive me."

William wasn't complaining; he was just expressing Mia's concern for Ava.

As he spoke, William held Ava's hand, his eyes full of love.

Ava smiled. "Mom, don't worry. He treats me very well."

Mia nodded. "That's good."
