Chapter 445 This Isn't Over

Faced with Ava's questioning and accusations, Alexander couldn't say a word. He stood outside the door, one hand on the door, leaning his forehead against his hand and sighing heavily.

Through the door, he reluctantly spoke, "Fine, I'll leave. I'll give you time to cool off. However, this isn't over. I won't stand by and watch you and William live your lives together."

Ava opened the door and shouted at Alexander's back, "Alexander, what do you want to do to William? If you hurt him, I will never forgive you!"

As Alexander distanced himself, he caught wind of Ava's warning echoing in his ears. He clenching his fists tightly, his eyes blazed with raging fury.

Ava returned to the room and anxiously called William on the phone.

The call went through, but he didn't answer, simply ending the call abruptly.
William must be fuming right now.
She knew she had let William down.
William, as her good friend, had always been by her side, aiding her and looking after her. Whenever she needed him most, he was there.
He watched helplessly as she wept for Alexander, feeling sorrow for her. Yet, now he heard directly from her that she willingly entered a relationship with Alexander, and that she desired Alexander.
As a friend, William was understandably enraged, utterly disappointed in her.
Ava collapsed weakly on the ground.
However, she had no other option.
If they carried on like this, what if things took a fatal turn?
For now, she could only wait for William to calm down before saying anything, or else he wouldn't be able to listen to anything at all.

Mia finished her work at the bank and got into her car to head back.

Just as she got in, she received a call from an unknown number, a number that had called her before but she had yet to save.

Mia answered the phone without pleasantries, "Dalton, what do you want?"

"You still recognize it's me. It looks like you're familiar with my number."

"No nonsense. Speak up."

"Your quick temper, how did you let George bully you into that state back then?"
"Goodbye." Just as Mia was about to hang up the phone, Dalton immediately interjected, "How strong is your relationship with Ava?"
Mia furrowed her brow. "What are you getting at?"
"I'm just curious. That's all. If Ava were to get hurt, how would you react?"

Mia's expression changed immediately. "Dalton, if you dare to cause trouble for Ava, I won't let you off. I can tell you that I know all the dirty things you've done. You'd better be honest."

"Look at you," Dalton chuckled. "You make it sound as if I intend to harm your son's ex-wife. Rest assured. I will not bring her any trouble. After all, she is now my son's wife, and I only seek to protect her."
"What are you saying?" Mia exclaimed, "She is now your son's wife?"
"You didn't know yet? It seems Ava hasn't informed you. She's already married to my son. They just got married today."
Mia felt deeply shocked. "It can't be true. You're lying to me."
"How could I lie about such a matter to you? If you don't believe me, you can ask Ava yourself if she has married William."
"Dalton, what game are you playing?"
"I'm not playing any game. Ava and my son love each other. Isn't marriage a natural progression? However, I am curious why she didn't tell you."
"Dalton, where are you right now?" Mia asked angrily.
