The next day, Ava was ready and had all the necessary documents for the wedding in her bag.
She received a call from William, who said he would arrive in three minutes.
As Ava made her way downstairs, a tall and handsome figure caught her eye. "Good morning, Ava," he said.
Upon beholding the individual before her, Ava was momentarily taken aback by a sense of pleasant surprise. "Eason, what a coincidence," she remarked.
Eason, sporting a backpack over both shoulders, possessed a lean yet robust physique, radiating a sunny disposition whenever he smiled.
"You look beautiful today. Are you going on a date?"
Ava was dressed in a light blue dress with lace sleeves, a small V-neck, and an exquisite necklace, looking elegant and beautiful.
"I have something to attend to," she replied.
Eva made a slight effort in her appearance, considering their decision to stage a mock wedding, aiming to ensure a sufficient air of authenticity for this purported upcoming event. After all, Dalton had mentioned dispatching an assistant to oversee them.
"Have you had breakfast?" Eason asked. "I have. What about you?" Ava replied.
Eason shook his head. "Not yet. I'll grab something on the way. By the way, we didn't finish our dinner that night. Let's find a time to do so. My treat."
Before Ava could respond, a car pulled up in front of them.
The door swung open. William stepped out, making his way directly toward them.
He glanced at the boy beside Ava who appeared rather young, and inquired, "And you are?"
Ava replied, "William, he lives in the same neighborhood as I do."
William turned to Ava and asked, "Do you have all the necessary documents for the wedding?"
Ava nodded. "I do." She patted her bag.
"Let's get in the car," William said, opening the door for Ava.
Ava turned to Eason."I have to go now. Goodbye."
"Goodbye, Ava." Eason waved gently.
After getting into the car, Ava received a message from Eason.
Eason: [Are you, by any chance, preparing for a wedding?]
Ava replied: [Yes.]
Eason: [Is this person your boyfriend?]
After a moment of hesitation, Ava replied: [Yes.]
Eason: [Wow, you've found such a handsome boyfriend so quickly. Impressive. I hope this time you've found a good man who won't make you cry again.]
Ava's heart fluttered, and a fleeting sense of darkness passed through her mind.
Sometimes, sadness crept up on you unexpectedly, beyond your control.
William noticed Ava's conversation and waited for her to finish. "Who was that?" he asked.
"That was the boy you just met, Eason." Ava replied.
"So, his name is Eason. How did you two meet?"
William had seen Ava chatting with Eason, and they seemed familiar with each other.
Ava explained, "We've only known each other for a few days. I bumped into him downstairs, and we had a chat."
Ava refrained from confiding in William about the truth. That evening, she wept bitterly, her distress palpable, as Eason made a sudden appearance.
