Chapter 783 See You in Court
George and Mia got to Scarlett's house and found it buzzing with activity. The servants were busy cleaning, and Scarlett was giving orders.
"Move the table over there," she said. "That vase doesn't look good here, put it over there."
A maid accidentally broke a vase and started crying.
"How could you be so careless?" Scarlett scolded but then softened. "Just be more careful next time. Are you hurt?"
"No, Mrs. Mitchell."
"Then clean it up and be careful."
"Yes, Mrs. Mitchell."
Scarlett's tone was stern but she didn't ask for compensation.
George walked in. "Mom, what's going on?"
"Just cleaning," Scarlett replied.
"Why?"
"Do I need a reason to clean?" Scarlett laughed. "George, why are you here again? You were just here yesterday."
George was surprised she remembered.
"Mia, you're here too," Scarlett said, smiling and taking her hand. "Do you think this looks good here?"
"Mom," Mia said, noticing Scarlett seemed energetic, not like George had described.
"What's wrong?" Scarlett asked kindly. "Do you need to tell me something?"
"I..." Mia hesitated.
"Did George bully you again?" Scarlett asked, turning serious. "George, did you bully Mia again? How many times have I told you!"
"Mom, I didn't," George quickly said.
"Mom, he didn't," Mia added. "We just came to check on you. How are you feeling?"
"I'm great. Just decided to clean up and add some fresh flowers for a change."
"Yes, Mom, it looks great," Mia said with a faint smile.
Scarlett continued directing the servants and even helped out.
Mia turned to George, looking cold. "You're lying."
George looked at Scarlett, confused. "Mia, I'm not lying. Yesterday, she wasn't like this."
Mia didn't believe him. "You're just stalling. You don't want a divorce," she whispered.
"Mia, I swear, if I'm lying..."
"I don't want to hear it," Mia cut him off. "I'm tired of this, George. See you in court. I'm going to say goodbye to your mom."
Mia walked over to Scarlett.
"Mom."
"Yes?" Scarlett turned around.
"I just remembered I have to go to the bank, so I have to..."
Before she could finish, Scarlett collapsed.
"Mom!" Mia caught her. "Mom, what's wrong?"
George rushed over. "Mom!"
They quickly carried Scarlett to the car and headed to the hospital.
