Chapter 837 You Both Are Responsible

Eason heard Ava's name and frowned. "I'm curious too. How did I run into you here? And you hit me with your car. How are you driving?"

"You crossed the street and you're blaming me?" Alexander shot back. "I have a dashcam. Want to see if you ran a red light?"

"I was in a hurry," Eason said, feeling wronged. "And you're the one driving. Don't you know to yield to pedestrians?"

Alexander didn't want to argue. "I'll take you to the hospital and cover your medical bills. The rest is on you."

Eason had run a red light, and Alexander didn't have time to brake. Responsibility was shared.

He took Eason to the hospital and paid the bills; he had done his part.

"You're so indifferent. No wonder Ava left you and married someone else. You deserve it!"

Alexander's brow furrowed, and he gripped the steering wheel tightly. "What did you say?"

Eason, enduring the pain, sat up and said through gritted teeth, "Are you angry? Am I not telling the truth? Last time I saw you at the hospital, you were so fierce and even punched me. Ava must be mad at you."

Madison was shocked. "Do you know each other? And what do you mean you punched him? Mr. Mitchell, did you hit him?"

"I did punch him, and he deserved it," Alexander said, starting the car.

"What's going on?" Madison turned to Eason. "So you know each other? What a coincidence!"

Eason said, "When Ava's husband had an accident, I thought it was his doing."

Madison opened her mouth to ask something, but Alexander cut in, "Alright, everyone stop talking. Be quiet."

He didn't want to discuss these matters in the car; he was worried he couldn't control his anger.

Seeing Alexander was unhappy, Madison stayed quiet.

Eason also stopped talking and just leaned back in the rear seat, groaning.

Finally, they arrived at the hospital. Alexander took Eason inside, with Madison following behind.

The doctor examined Eason. He had some fractures and soft tissue injuries, but nothing major.

Alexander stood by the hospital bed. "I've paid your medical bills. The doctor said to observe you for one night. If everything's fine tomorrow, you can leave."

He turned to leave.

"Wait a minute," Eason called out.

Alexander turned around. "What else do you need?"

Eason asked, "Who's that woman? Is she your new girlfriend?"

"No, don't talk nonsense."

Alexander didn't want any misunderstandings.

Madison stood outside the room. Hearing Alexander's serious denial, she felt a bit hurt. But she wasn't his girlfriend, so it was normal for him to deny it. She just liked him too much, which made her sad.

Madison took a deep breath and leaned against the wall, waiting patiently.

Eason added, "If she's not your girlfriend, why are you two together? And she looks at you differently."

"None of your business. Just take care of yourself," Alexander said impatiently.

"She looks like Ava," Eason said. "Didn't you notice? You say she's not your girlfriend, but I don't believe you. Are you looking for a substitute because you can't have Ava?"

"Eason, don't push your luck. Do you want another punch?"

Alexander's face clouded with displeasure.
