Chapter 1256 Shocking News
Ava poured Mandy a glass of warm water and placed it on the table, then sat down beside her. "What's the matter? Just say it."
Mandy looked around the room. "Where's your child?"
"He's in the room. What exactly do you want to say?"
Mandy was silent for a long time.
Suddenly, she grabbed Ava's hand.
Ava was startled and immediately pulled her hand back. "What are you doing?"
"That bracelet, I had it custom-made for you."
Ava was initially stunned, but then quickly understood.
For a moment, she didn't know what to say.
Mandy's simple sentence carried more information than she had imagined.
Ava suddenly stood up, walked back to the room, and after a while, came out with a bracelet in her hand, which she placed on the table. "Are you talking about this one?"
Mandy picked up the bracelet and examined it carefully. "Yes, that's the one. I saw it at the restaurant last time and wanted to ask you about it, but the situation didn't allow it, so I came to find you later."
Ava now understood everything—why Mandy had asked such strange questions the last time she came to see her, and why her attitude had suddenly improved, unlike her previously aggressive demeanor.
"What exactly is going on?" Ava tried to control her emotions and remain calm.
"I am your grandmother. You are the daughter of my eldest son, Rodolfo Smith."
"Your eldest son?"
"Yes, Rodolfo, Brandon's brother. But you are Rodolfo's illegitimate daughter. Your identity was too sensitive at the time, and if his wife found out, the consequences would have been severe. Additionally, there was a serious internal conflict at the time, so we had to send you away."
Ava lowered her head, took a deep breath, and then asked, "Where is my biological father now?"
"He committed suicide before you were born," Mandy replied.
"Suicide? Why did he commit suicide?" Ava's eyes began to redden.
"He had severe psychological issues, and many things were happening at the time. Perhaps I pushed him too hard."
Mandy took out a handkerchief and wiped her tears. "He passed away shortly before your mother gave birth to you."
"Who is my mother? Where is she?"
"After giving birth to you, your mother was not safe. So, I made an agreement with her. I would ensure your safety, but she had to go abroad and live under a new identity. We haven't been in contact for many years, and I don't know exactly where she is."
Mandy took a photo out of her bag and placed it on the table. "These are your parents. Your birth was not honorable, but if possible, no one wanted to abandon you. Sending you away was also a form of safety for you."
Ava stared at the photo on the table. It showed a young couple, the man's hand on the woman's waist, both smiling warmly. They looked very much in love.
But one was a married man, and the other was the mistress.
"So, I am an illegitimate child, right?"
Mandy looked at Ava silently and finally nodded.
This news was hard for Ava to digest.
The more she thought about it, the more terrified she felt.
"So, William is my cousin, and Vicky is my cousin too. William's mother, your daughter Hailey, is my aunt?"
Mandy nodded. "Yes. So, whose child is this? Is it William's?"
Ava closed her eyes, composed herself, and said, "Sunny is not William's child. Although William and I were married, we never had a sexual relationship."
