Chapter 1202 You're Still Here
Madison looked incredibly sad, not at all like she was acting, and Alexander didn't know whether to believe her or not.
When Ava first told him, he defended Madison completely, ignoring Emily entirely.
Now Madison told him that it was Emily who killed Grandma, and Alexander couldn't be 100% sure that Madison had nothing to do with it.
It was as if a fog had descended, obscuring his vision.
After a long while, Alexander let go of Madison.
"Take care of yourself first," Alexander said, turning to leave.
Suddenly, he heard a commotion behind him.
Turning around, he saw Madison stumbling towards the window, forcefully opening it, and jumping out.
Alexander's brow furrowed, and he quickly rushed forward, grabbing Madison from behind and pulling her back from the windowsill.
"What are you doing?"
"Alexander, let me die. I don't want to live anymore. You can blame me for Scarlett's death. I am responsible for it. Let me die. I can't live with this guilt!"
"Madison, don't be like this!" Alexander pressed Madison onto the bed.
"Alexander, I know how important your grandma was to you. This has already happened. Even if it wasn't me, but Emily who did it, you must hate me. Instead of letting you hate me, I'd rather die!"
"Madison, are you crazy?" Alexander held her down forcefully. "If it wasn't you, why would I hate you? Or are you feeling guilty and trying to gain sympathy?"
"I'm not. I'm just too guilty. I'm sorry. If my actions make you think I'm feeling guilty, then I won't do anything from now on. You investigate. If it really has something to do with me, I will face it head-on."
Madison could read Alexander's expressions and knew when to change her plans.
"Fine," Alexander let her go. "Don't try to kill yourself again. If you do, I won't care about you anymore."
Alexander's patience was limited. "I will get to the bottom of this. I won't fully believe what Emily says. I know what kind of person she is. But as for you, I will investigate."
With that, Alexander left the room.
Sunny was already able to stand on the ground. He tried to lift his little leg and take a step forward, with Ava reaching out beside him, ready to catch him at any moment.
"Bishop, come and see, Sunny can stand now."
She wanted to share this good news with Bishop immediately.
Bishop came out of the kitchen and saw Sunny standing on the ground, both surprised and delighted. "It looks like it won't be long before our Sunny can walk."
Hearing "our Sunny," Ava's smile froze, and she seemed a bit embarrassed, avoiding Bishop's gaze.
Bishop also realized that what he said might have been inappropriate.
At that moment, Sunny took two steps forward and plopped down on the ground.
Bishop quickly stepped forward and picked him up.
"It seems Sunny can't wait to walk," he said, gently rocking Sunny. "But Sunny, there's no rush. Take your time."
Ding-dong, the doorbell rang.
Bishop said, "I'll get the door."
Ava nodded and started picking up the toys on the floor.
Bishop opened the door, and outside was Alexander. The two men stared at each other, and the atmosphere instantly turned icy.
Alexander saw Sunny in Bishop's arms, looking like father and son, and his heart tightened.
"You're still here," was Alexander's first sentence.
Before Bishop could respond, Ava walked over. "What does it matter to you if he's here? What are you doing here?"
