Chapter 806 Very Unhappy
Madison wanted to refuse, but seeing Alexander's stern look, she got a bit scared.
Before she could speak, Alexander said, "It's decided."
Both had compromised, so they went with a middle-ground solution.
Madison couldn't refuse anymore and nodded. "Alright, thanks. If you ever need my help..."
She laughed at herself before finishing.
"You don't need my help. I'm too self-absorbed," she said.
"Don't think like that," Alexander urged. "It's still early; you should rest more."
Madison looked apologetic. "You've stayed with me so long. You must be tired."
Alexander shrugged. "It's fine, I'm not tired."
Even if he wasn't at the hospital, he'd struggle to sleep at home without pills. He felt refreshed, not sleepy.
"No matter what, you need sleep," Madison said.
"Get some more rest," Alexander replied. "I'll be going now."
He'd been there long enough, taking her to the hospital and waiting for her to wake up. He felt he'd done enough and didn't need to stay all night.
As Alexander turned to leave, Madison instinctively asked, "Mr. Mitchell, will we see each other again?"
She worried he'd leave and she'd never see him again. She had his number but couldn't call him all the time.
Alexander paused, then turned around. "The doctor said you need to stay for a few days. If I have time, I'll visit."
Madison wanted to ask, 'What if you don't have time?' but only said, "Alright."
After Alexander left, Madison sighed.
She thought of the day she saved Alexander. It wasn't by accident.
Someone had emailed her, saying it was a perfect spot for photography. She watched the video, thought it was beautiful, and went with her camera.
She didn't expect to save Alexander there. She tried to find out who sent the email but found nothing. It was anonymous.
She felt it wasn't a coincidence but had no evidence. She didn't regret it, though. She never dreamed she'd save Alexander and interact with him.
But he seemed very unhappy. Who had broken his heart?
Alexander didn't go home but to a nearby hotel. Once there, he felt sleepy. After a shower, he slept for a few hours.
When the sun rose, he called his assistant for clean clothes. After changing, he went straight to the office.
He worked non-stop, not drinking water or eating, treating himself like a machine.
As it got dark and employees were leaving, Alexander was still in the office. They didn't realize he hadn't left.
Alexander sat at his desk, finishing the last document.
